Please help us welcome Baileigh Wright to the Davenport Women’s Hockey program! 🐾🔥
Baileigh joins Davenport University as the first commitment of our 2027–28 recruiting class, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to Panther Nation. A goaltender who competes with confidence, consistency, and athleticism, Baileigh brings another exciting piece to our goaltending group. Her work ethic, competitiveness, and ability to make key saves give her the tools to make an impact at the collegiate level.
We’re thrilled to have Baileigh open our 2027–28 recruiting class and are excited to see what she can accomplish as she takes the next step in her hockey career.
Coach Blake Hackbarth on Baileigh:
“There’s the old saying in goaltending that a goalie has to make the saves they’re supposed to make and then find a way to stop some of the ones they’re not supposed to. After watching Baileigh for the last few years, I think that’s something she does really well, the bonus is she doesn't stop "some" of the ones she's not supposed to she stops most of them. She just stops pucks, and she gives you a lot of confidence in the net. She trains, she competes, and she’s everything you want in a goaltender and an athlete. She’s also an outstanding student with an extremely high GPA. From student to athlete to person, Baileigh is everything we’re looking for, and we’re really excited to have her join our team.”
Baileigh on her decision to commit to Davenport:
“I chose Davenport because it just felt like the right fit for me. I really like the smaller student-to-professor ratio because I know I’ll be able to get the help and support I need. I also love how clean and welcoming the campus is. The confidence and excitement Coach Blake has for the team really stood out to me, and I could tell that he truly cares about his players. Being able to go directly into the nursing program was also a big reason I chose Davenport. Plus, being close to home makes it even better.”
