Granbury High School Bass Club

GHS Bass Club participated in round 2 of the Texas High School BASS Association West division on Lake Brownwood. The team placed 5th out of 30 schools and we had 11 boats in the tournament! In all 144 boats fished and 79 boats weighed in fish. The top weight was 15.60 lbs. Jace & Collin won a scholarship for college as well as $100 Lews/Strike King gift cards. Next up is Lake Witney on Nov. 15.

The season has officially kicked off for our anglers and captains! In all, 34 schools and 150 boats fished Possum Kingdom on Sept. 26th. Granbury HS Bass Club placed 4th as a school. 64 boats weighed in fish included 5 teams from Granbury. It was a beautiful day but fishing was tough with less than half of the boats weighing in fish.

- Paycen Jackson placed 16th with 6.59 lbs

- Connor Jansen & Garrett Pope placed 19th with 5.76 lbs

- Collin Young & Jace Storie placed 22nd with 5.52 lbs

- Mason Hannah & Andrew Dabello placed 41st with 2.78 lbs

- Braidyn Creecy & Trey Wilkins placed 57th with 2.12 lbs (not pictured)

Our next tournament is Oct. 18th on Brownwood

A huge shout out to Granbury Bass Club for hosting our 3rd annual GHS Bass Club fundraiser! Thank you everyone who participated this year. We also have to thank our sponsors! It was a great day for our anglers and captains on the first stop of THSBA on Lake Whitney! GHS Bass Club had 15 anglers fishing today in a field of 163 total boats in our region. Bryson Carlock and Andy Debello took 9th overall with 2 fish weighing 7.87 pounds. Andy Debello also caught the big bass in today's competition weighing 6.41 pounds. Grant Young and Gage Archer took 3rd place with 5 fish weighing 9.86 pounds.

3 other teams weighed in fish today as well! Harrington with 3.45 pounds, Wick/Cathey weighed in 3.2 pounds and Turner/Lewis with 1.93 pounds.

Thanks to all the captains and parents who support these anglers!

Next stop is Lake Granbury - October 12.

If you are interested in learning more about the GHS Bass Club, join us Thursday at 5:30 in the cafeteria at the High School! All captains and returning anglers are encouraged to attend as well! We have 5 regular season tournaments which can qualify for regionals and state tournaments. College scholarships can be earned at every tournament including over $66,000 at state through Texas High School BASS Association!
