Things I Have Found Disturbing in the Running Space Lately…
🦩Body Shaming Other Runners - why is anyone even making a comment about someone else’s body, period! There is no particular body type or size to be considered a runner!
🦩Glorifying Under/No Fueling - this is in no way shape or form makes you a bad ass runner! Fueling is everything when it comes to big goals or just running in general! Let’s be smarter than this!
🦩Running Through Injuries - running through an injury to complete a race or a run does not make you a superhero, it makes you dumb! The end.
🦩Being Angry/Upset About a Time/Pace/PR - listen, we all want big paces and amazing PR’s… But not every day is going to be that and not every race, you will meet your goals! Even the elite have bad days and bad races. Let’s be humble and remind ourselves of the hard work we put in to get where we are, some people would kill to have those times and PR’s.
🦩Giving Advice When It’s Not Warranted - let’s be mindful…and only give advice when asked or if you are trained/certified in that particular area.
🦩Negative Comments on Others Running Journeys - we don’t know everyone’s situation, or where they started, so let’s be kind and support each other! Enough with the negative comments, it’s not asked for…so move on!
