It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of our middle school cheerleader, Memphis.
Memphis brought so much light, love, and joy to everyone around her. Her laugh was truly infectious, and her smile could brighten even the hardest days. She had a sparkle that made people feel welcomed, valued, and loved, and our cheer family will never be the same without her.
The world feels a little dimmer without her in it, and we will miss her sparkle more than words can express. Please continue to keep her family, friends, teammates, and all who loved her in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. 💔
I was hoping to come here to post a hope filled update, but sadly that is not that case tonight.
Over the last year I have had the honor of photographing young Memphis twice for Goodrich Middle School cheerleading. Her smile was infectious. Even though my time with the team was brief I’d remember that smile anywhere. My heart broke when I saw that beautiful smile come across my feed, learning she was the critically injured in an awful accident in Grand Blanc.
This evening I was going to share this link to help support her through the turmoil of healing from such a tragedy.
Unfortunately, today, at only 12 years old, she succumbed to her injuries, gaining a new pair of wings and leaving a hole in our community.
May the stories we tell of Memphis be memories of joy and remind us how precious each day is.
