SUMMER WORLD SERIES WEEKEND

A couple weeks ago, these boys walked into Asheville and faced just about everything you can throw at a baseball team—close games, tough breaks, adversity, questionable calls, international tiebreakers, and pressure-packed moments. They could have folded. Instead, they fought.

Now it's time for the next chapter.

This weekend, TLP Red 11U heads to Rocky Mount for the Summer World Series.

The road to a championship isn't built on perfect weekends. It's built on adversity, resilience, and showing up ready to work when things don't go your way.

These boys have already proven they can do that.

The Mountains Tested Them. TLP Red 11U Answered.

The boys took on Asheville, NC this past weekend, and they did not disappoint. One thing is for sure—Asheville wasn't ready for them.

This weekend wasn't just about baseball. It was about adversity, adjustments, resilience, and character. The boys faced challenges all weekend long, many completely out of their control, but they never stopped competing. They never stopped believing. And they never stopped fighting for each other.

Saturday's first game was a true test of who these boys are. Sometimes baseball throws things your way that you can't control, and the only choice is to keep battling. We came up one run short in the final inning, but the response from this team said everything about their character.

Game two on Saturday, the boys bounced right back with a big win. Huge congratulations to Dawson Bullard, who launched a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the second inning.

Their hard work earned them a spot in the Gold Bracket on Sunday.

Sunday morning was another nail-biter. But they pulled that game off.

In the semifinals, the boys got another shot at the team that handed them a one-run loss on Saturday. Good teams look for excuses. Great teams look for opportunities. TLP came ready to play. Chandler Mason crushed a two-run homer to center field in the top of the third, helping power the boys into the Championship Game.

The Championship Game was everything you'd want from tournament baseball.

Early on, things weren't going our way. But these boys never quit.

In the top of the sixth, TLP erupted for five runs on four hits to take a 6-3 lead. Then Dawson Bullard stepped into the box and delivered again, crushing a two-run homer to left field after a six-pitch battle.

The other team answered in the bottom half of the inning, sending the game into an International Tie Breaker. After a weekend full of close games, grit, and heart-stopping moments, TLP came up just one run short.

But don't let the final score fool you.

This weekend wasn't defined by a trophy.

It was defined by the way these boys fought through adversity. The way they responded when things got tough. The way they trusted each other, picked each other up, and continued to compete no matter what was happening around them.

There were home runs. There were strikeouts. There were championship game dance-offs, tic-tac-toe battles, swimming, great food, great families, and most importantly, there were lessons learned and memories made.

These boys have a habit of keeping every parent on the edge of their seat, and apparently, they don't believe in easy wins. But weekend after weekend, they continue to show what they're made of.

Congratulations to TLP Red 11U on an incredible weekend of baseball and a hard-earned Championship Runner-Up finish in Asheville!

GOLD BRACKET CHAMPIONSHIP GAME DANCE OFF!

05/23/2026

If your kid’s coach doesn’t have “Brandonisms,” high expectations, a love for the game, and most importantly a love for your kid… is he even coaching right? 😆

Coach Brandon shows up for these boys day in and day out, pouring his time, wisdom, and God-given gifts into each and every one of them. He knows these kids beyond just a coach level — he knows their personalities, their quirks, what makes them tick, and exactly how to pull the very best out of them.

He teaches more than baseball; he teaches standards for life. His expectations are high, but never out of reach, and these boys have learned that success is earned, not given. Somehow, he balances holding them accountable while also keeping them laughing and on their toes… because with Coach Brandon, you truly never know what’s coming next or what Brandonism you’re about to hear. 😂

Most importantly, these boys know he believes in them — on and off the field — and that matters more than he probably realizes.

TLP RED Boys wants to wish Coach Brandon a very Happy Birthday! 🎉⚾️

Where to even begin with this weekend. These boys played four hard-fought games and left absolutely everything they had on the field.

Saturday started with a tie in game one and a tough loss in game two. Sunday morning, the boys showed up early, locked in, and ready to compete. They battled their way to a one-run win in the first game, earning their shot to play for a spot in the championship. Unfortunately, we came up just one run short in the last inning.

As Coach Brandon always says, “This is a game of failure, which is why I love it.”
And this weekend showed exactly why.

This team continues to grow, compete, and fight for each other every single inning. The growth at the plate, the energy in the dugout, the hype from every player cheering each other on — you can feel this team becoming something special.

Huge congratulations to Chandler Mason, who crushed a home run to left field Saturday, helping TLP put up three runs in the bottom of the second inning.

And Sunday, Jaxton Smith got things started early with an absolute bomb to center field in the top of the 1st inning.

But one of the biggest moments of the weekend had nothing to do with the scoreboard.

We want to give Graham Davis “G” a HUGE shoutout. G pitched a great first game Saturday morning while already not feeling well. As the day went on, he got worse. By Sunday morning, he felt so bad he missed the first game completely.

But after the boys tied it up and forced another game, his mom said:
“G’s meds kicked in and there was no talking him out of it. He was putting his uniform on as soon as they tied it up, we’re on the way!”

Not only did G show up for his team… he got in there and hit the ball too.

That right there is what this team is about.

The character of these boys matters more than baseball ever will. Athleticism is temporary. Home runs fade. Wins and losses eventually blur together. But character, heart, toughness, brotherhood, and being the kind of teammate who refuses to let his team down — that lasts forever.

Win or lose, TLP RED always makes teams remember the day they played them. These close games, heartbreaking losses, and neck-and-neck battles are shaping these boys into competitors and teammates. The lessons this game teaches, the friendships built during long weekends at the ball field, and the growth happening inside their hearts and minds — that’s the real win.

Congrats again to Chandler and Jax on the home runs, and proud of every single one of these boys. TLP RED is coming.
