Not every lesson happens on the bike.

Recently, our Gravity and Plus riders came together for a team building day focused on something just as important as riding: community.
Mountain biking may be an individual sport at times, but the best riders know how to encourage teammates, support each other through challenges, and celebrate each other’s successes.

Days like this help strengthen the friendships and connections that make GBX so special. Because when riders feel supported by the people around them, confidence grows both on and off the trail.

Stronger riders.
Stronger together.

We’re grateful for this community and excited for everything these riders will accomplish this season.

Childhood was made for places like these.

For scraped knees and dirty shoes.
For staying outside longer than planned.
For trying something new, getting a little braver, and finding friends along the way.

For adventures that feel big when you’re young and memories that somehow stick with you long after you’ve grown up.

These are the kinds of days we hope every kid gets to have.

Sometimes growth looks uncomfortable from the outside.

Kids trying something new.
Taking healthy risks.
Falling and trying again.
Learning how to navigate challenge instead of avoiding it.

But that’s often where confidence is built.

At GBX, riders are constantly learning how to problem solve, trust themselves, and work through challenges in a supportive environment with coaches there to guide and encourage them along the way.

Because capable, confident kids usually aren’t built through comfort alone. They’re built through experience, resilience, and the freedom to grow.

There’s something different about time spent in the mountains.

The environment naturally asks kids to be present, aware, and adaptable in ways that structured settings often can’t. Uneven terrain, changing conditions, long climbs, and unexpected challenges all require kids to think, adjust, and problem solve in real time.

The mountains teach resilience.

They teach kids how to work through frustration, stay focused, make decisions, and keep going when something feels difficult.

They also teach confidence.

Because every challenge overcome on the trail becomes proof that they are capable of more than they thought.

At GBX, our role is to help create a safe, supportive environment where riders can experience that kind of growth while learning how to navigate the outdoors responsibly and confidently.

The trail teaches a lot.

Sending a younger rider to GBX for the first time can come with a lot of questions for parents.

Will they be okay?
What if they’re nervous?
What if they’ve never really ridden trails before?

The good news is that many riders start exactly there.

Our programs are designed to meet kids where they are and help them build confidence step by step in a supportive, coach-led environment. Every practice is intentionally structured around safety, encouragement, and skill development so riders can grow at their own pace.

One of the most rewarding parts of the experience is watching younger riders begin to trust themselves on the trail. They learn how to problem solve, navigate challenges, support teammates, and gain confidence independently while knowing coaches are there to guide and encourage them along the way.

The growth goes far beyond biking.
And we’re incredibly grateful to the families who trust us to be part of that journey.

For a lot of kids today, this kind of summer isn’t normal anymore.

Long hours outside.
Real challenges.
Learning resilience.
Working hard.
Building confidence.
Being part of a community.

But maybe it should be.

At GBX, riders spend their summers exploring trails, pushing themselves, encouraging each other, and learning what they’re capable of outside of a screen and beyond the comfort of routine.

There’s something powerful about kids spending time outdoors, solving problems in real time, and growing through experiences that challenge them physically and mentally.

That’s part of why we ride.

We’re incredibly grateful for partners who believe in creating opportunities for young riders in our community.

This month, we’re highlighting the Golden Civic Foundation and their support of GBX through a grant that directly supports our scholarship fund. Their investment helps provide access to riders who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate, making it possible for more kids to experience the confidence, community, and growth that happens on the trail.

Support like this goes far beyond bikes. It helps create opportunities for kids to challenge themselves, build friendships, and grow through outdoor experiences that leave a lasting impact.

Thank you to the Golden Civic Foundation for supporting the next generation of riders and helping make the GBX mission possible.

Same trail.
Different riders.
Different journeys.

Some riders hit a feature confidently the first time. Others take a few tries, slow down to assess it, or decide they’re not ready yet.

And that’s okay.

One of the most important parts of coaching is understanding that every rider grows differently. Confidence, progression, and skill development rarely look the same from rider to rider.

At GBX, coaches work to meet riders where they are, helping them feel supported, challenged, and safe while building confidence at their own pace.

Because growth on the trail is not about comparing riders.
It’s about helping each individual rider continue moving forward.

Before every GBX ride, there’s a full process riders go through before anyone even hits the trail.

Every practice starts with goal setting and a comprehensive safety and readiness check to make sure riders are prepared for the day ahead. Coaches help riders check helmets, hydration, gear, weather preparedness, nutrition, trail readiness, and overall bike condition before groups head out.

As part of that process, riders also go through our ABCs:
A = Air
B = Brakes
C = Chain

These routines help riders build safe habits, responsibility, and confidence while learning how to properly prepare for time on the trail, not just ride the bike itself.

Over time, riders begin understanding that preparation matters just as much as the ride itself.

Because confidence on the trail starts long before the ride begins.

Summer ride season is almost here, and Meet & Greet is where it all begins.

This is the day riders meet their coaches, get their bikes and helmets checked, pick up swag, grab jerseys (if purchased), and start getting excited for the season ahead. It’s also a chance for families to connect with the GBX community before the first rides officially begin.

Our volunteer mechanics will be onsite helping with bike and gear checks to make sure riders are ready to roll, and JeffCo Open Space will also be there with bells and stickers for athletes.

Most importantly, this is the start of a summer full of confidence building, friendships, trail miles, and unforgettable experiences on the bike.

We can’t wait to kick off another incredible season with this community.

Meet & Greet Schedule
Morning Cohorts: 10 –11 AM
Evening Cohorts: 11 AM–12 PM
