GSU's annual day of giving is upon us and pioneer debate would greatly appreciate it if you could donate. Donations would fund our travel and tournament fees for this semester. The debate team got featured in the news this week for competing our first debate. We are proud of everyone who participated and also those who helped out behind the scenes taking pictures of the debaters.

Pioneer Debate notched two top ten overall finishers in its first tournament.

Congratulations Jahzeiah Wade for finishing in the top ten at the NEDA online debate March 11. Wade finished with a 0-5 score but still placed number eight out of thirty-eight competitors.

Congratulations to McKinzie White for placing in the top five at the NEDA online debate on March 11!!!! She competed in five rapid fire debates. Her final score was two wins and three losses.

This week in debate we discussed certain arguments for the affirmative and negative sides of NEDA resolution which is Should the U.S. substantially reform k-12 education. I will post pictures of this coming thursday when we do a mock debate for practice for our upcoming online tournament March 11th.

Pioneer Debates about statement is GSU’s Pioneer Debate Team hosts events on campus and in the local community. We also debate competitively through NEDA (National Education Debate Association) in both online and in-person tournaments. Participation in Pioneer Debate includes many opportunities: Debater, Researcher, Facilitator; PR & Social Media, Fundraising, and general interest. Develop your professional skills for critical thinking and listening, framing an argument, making a persuasive case, and engaging your creativity through problem-solving activities. We value the educational and civic engagement of public forums and especially encourage team-based debate activities. In addition to our debate activities, Pioneer Debate is also actively engaged in Community Service.
