How a back injury left me feeling hopeless ⬇️
In high school I finished my senior year as a rugby athlete. Loved it so much I carried it into college, but in a MENS league (ages 18-45).
Let me tell you I got my s**t 🪨’d
After a month or so in, I was waking up with crippling back pain. Seriously couldn’t even get out of bed.
I thought this was gonna be the end of my fitness journey. How was I going to continue being active with this much pain?
When I started researching and rehabbing myself, my goal wasn’t to avoid injury..
But instead it was finding a way to get back to my peak performance 🙌🏽
Working out became a way for me to move pain free, and feel confident in my abilities again.
I didn’t avoid movement out of fear of re-injury. Because I knew that’s exactly what would set me farther away from my goals…a long active life!
If you are dealing with nagging pain or old injuries… take it from me, the solution is not to STOP movement.
Instead it should be how to train in a way to get you back to lifting heavy and moving pain free 🧡
