🌟 Baker’s Best in Education - The Heart Behind Our Commitment to Excellence 🌟
Please join Superintendent Milton in congratulating our next Baker’s Best in Education honoree, Ms. Rachael Martin!
Ms. Martin serves as an ELA teacher at Baker County High School and has been a part of our district family for 5 years. When asked what she loves most about her role, Ms. Martin stated, “The part of my job that I love the most is seeing the excitement on my students’ faces when they achieve their goals. Even if it’s a 5-point increase on an assessment or understanding a skill that they felt they didn’t understand.”
Who or what inspires you? “My students who overcome impossible challenges and odds. The ones who get up every day and make the effort to come to school because they want a life they can be proud of.”
What is a fun fact about you that others might not know? “I am the assistant coach for the girls flag football team this year. These girls keep me on my toes!”
What does Committed to Excellence mean to you? “Committed to Excellence means holding myself and my students to high standards while continuously striving for growth. It is not about perfection, but about preparation, reflection, and intentional effort every day. I believe in challenging students to reach their full potential while providing the support and encouragement they need to succeed. Excellence, to me, is measured by impact - the lasting confidence, skills, and critical thinking students carry beyond my classroom.”
What’s one of the most meaningful experiences you’ve had as a Baker County School District employee? “I didn’t grow up in Baker and didn’t move here until 2020. It continues to amaze me how willing the district, as a whole, is to help and support fellow employees and student families.”
