ARVO conducts veterinary programs & pop up clinics throughout rural Alaska with the help of dedicated volunteers. There is a chronic shortage of qualified veterinary services in much of rural Alaska. ARVO works to fill that gap for the benefit of the pets and people of rural Alaska.

Pike Dog Wellness MORE BIG NEWS Update - When you have this much going on what do you need? You guessed it….an official photographer!

Pike Dog Wellness is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Whitney McLaren as the Pike Dog Wellness official photographer. She will be providing us with original content for our sponsorships for the entire mushing season.

Whitney has become the premiere dog mushing photographer across Alaska covering races like the TRDMA Solstice, KNIK 200, Copper Basin 300, Copper Basin 100, Yukon Quest Alaska, Junior Iditarod, Su- Dog 300, Iditarod, T-Dog, Kobuk 440, PLUS several Sprint Races. We are excited about Whitney adding her skills to the Pike Dog Wellness program.

Pike Dog Wellness Sponsored Race Update - We will be there presenting the second annual Pike Dog Wellness Veterinarians Choice Award! 🏆🐕😀

We have been getting messages asking when the 2027 Copper Basin 300 will be happening and we’re excited to announce that the race will be January 9-12 with race registration, vet checks, and musher meeting happening Friday, January 8th and the banquet on January 12th. Stay tuned for further updates about when we will be opening registration.

Pike Big Movie Event Update - We attended the premiere of the new Iditarod documentary “Iditarod 2026 - Seven Dog Night” at Beartooth Theater in Anchorage last night with a bunch of friends.
It was great! The movie will be available for steaming on line to Iditarod subscribers. If you are not a member of Iditarod Insider, now is a perfect time to join.

Pike Dog Wellness Proud Supporter Update - This year’s Iditarod Movie chronicleing the 2026 race will premiere tomorrow at the Beartooth Theater at 6:00 PM. Returning race champion Jesse Holmes will be there to offer his commentary on the Last Great Race.
Pike Dog Wellness has purchased four booths and will be there with 16 people for the big event! There are still some tickets available. We hope to see you there…Mush on! 🎥🐕😀
