🥎 Dirt & Diamonds Tournament Recap 🥎
6/12 -6/14

This weekend the 8U Lady Warhawks hit the road and traveled all the way to Union City, PA for the Dirt & Diamonds Tournament. The highlight of the weekend came against UC ICE when the girls battled back from an early deficit to earn their first win of the season. Seeing the excitement on their faces after that final out made all the hard work worthwhile. 🎉 That win is a great example of how much this group has improved, falling behind early and continuing to fight is a huge step for an 8U team. 💙🩷🥎

What makes this group so fun to coach is that every single week they get better. The hard work they put in off the field is showing up on the field, and the confidence is growing with every game.

Some highlights from the weekend:

⭐ The Warhawks earned their first win of the season with a 16-11 victory over UC ICE! After falling behind early, the girls battled back with 23 hits and 16 runs. Lainey Wilson led the offense with 3 hits, including two doubles and a triple while driving in 3 runs. Lillie Klamer went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, Natalie Williams added 3 hits and 2 RBIs, and Adalynn Perotta collected 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Zaina Kotb added a double and a triple while driving in a run, helping power the comeback victory.

⭐ Against 814 Elite, the bats were on fire as the Warhawks collected 29 hits and scored 18 runs in a thrilling back-and-forth battle. Lainey Wilson led the way with 4 hits, including two doubles and a triple, while driving in 4 runs. Natalie Williams added 3 hits and 3 RBIs, and Zaina Kotb, Harper Plott, Adalynn Perotta, and Lillyonah Steiner all recorded 3-hit games.

⭐ Against Richmond Rebels, the girls continued to swing it well, pounding out 17 hits. Lillie Klamer, Lainey Wilson, Natalie Williams, Zaina Kotb, Juliet Plant, Vada Moussa, and Abby Hall all recorded multiple hits.

⭐ In our game against Ohio Blast, the Warhawks racked up 14 hits. Zaina Kotb was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, Abby Hall went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs, and Lillyonah Steiner launched a HOME RUN while driving in 2 runs. Harper Plott and Lainey Wilson each added 2 hits.

Most importantly, these girls earned their first tournament win and showed just how much progress they’ve made since the start of the season. We are proud of the effort, the attitude, and the fight they showed all weekend long.

We’ve been a little quiet but that’s because we’ve been busy getting better each week.

🥎⚡ PERFECT STORM TOURNAMENT RECAP ⚡🥎 6/6-6/7

The scoreboard may not have reflected the outcome we wanted, but this weekend was another important step forward for our 8U Lady Warhawks.

When you’re building a first-year team, success isn’t always measured in wins and losses. It’s measured in growth, confidence, learning, and seeing the hard work from practice show up on the field. This weekend, we saw all of those things.

🔥 Against Willoughby Starzz, our girls exploded for 22 hits and 16 runs in a thrilling one-run game. Every player contributed, and we showed just how dangerous our offense can be when the bats get rolling.

🔥 Against Ohio Blast, we jumped out to an early lead and collected 13 hits. Lillyonah launched a home run, while Lainey drove in 2 runs and Brooklyn went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.

🔥 On Sunday, despite facing a tough 814 Elite squad, Brooklyn and Vada picked up hits while Zaina crossed the plate for our run. The girls never stopped competing until the final out.

🌟 Weekend Highlights:
🥎 Brooklyn ( #18) recorded 8 hits over the weekend.
🥎 Lillyonah ( #44) had 6 hits, including a home run.
🥎 Lainey ( #22) collected 4 hits and drove in 4 runs.
🥎 Natalie ( #5) added 4 hits.
🥎 Harper ( #14) recorded 3 hits, including a double.
🥎 Vada ( #7) drove in 4 runs and added a double.
🥎 Lillie ( #2), Zaina ( #9), Abigail ( #17), Kennedy ( #20), Juliet ( #4), and Adalynn ( #13) all made important contributions throughout the tournament.

Most importantly, these girls continue to battle, learn, and improve every time they step on the field. We are seeing better at-bats, more confidence in the field, and stronger teamwork each weekend.

The future is bright for this group, and we’re proud of the effort they continue to give. Keep working, keep believing, and keep having fun. The wins will come.

🧠🥎 Friday Focus: Growth Mindset

Mistakes don't mean you're failing—they mean you're learning.

Every athlete, no matter how successful, has struck out, made errors, and faced challenges along the way. Growth doesn't come from being perfect. It comes from showing up, putting in the work, and learning from every experience.

The athletes who improve the most aren't the ones who never make mistakes. They're the ones who refuse to let mistakes stop them.

So if you have a tough game, miss a play, or fall short of a goal, don't give up.

Learn from it.
Grow through it.
Show up again tomorrow.

Progress over perfection. Always.

Tournament weekend #2 this weekend!

🥎 T-Town Showdown: Tournament #1 in the Books! 🥎

While we would have loved to bring home a win this weekend, our first tournament was still a success in so many ways.

The 8U Lady Warhawks stepped onto the field and competed against established teams and organizations that have been playing together for nearly a year (if not more.) Meanwhile, this is a team that wasn’t fully assembled until March. Despite that, our girls showed up ready to battle, never backed down, and gave everything they had every time they took the field.

This season has never been just about wins and losses. It’s about learning the game, building friendships, developing confidence, and creating the foundation for something special. Every inning, every at-bat, and every play is helping us grow stronger as a team.

We learned a lot this weekend. We saw areas where we’ve improved and areas where we need more work. Most importantly, we saw a group of girls that continue to support each other, have fun, and fight until the last out.

The future is bright for this group. 🩵🩷

We’ll take what we learned, get back to work this week, and be ready to battle again next weekend.
