Race 2 of the weekend points series at Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road Americais in the books. We came into this event with our typical mindset that preparation is a key factor to achieving the results we are working for. We spent another late night in the shop switching over to this season’s new engine, and had the kart dialed in. We arrived relaxed and ready to compete, knowing we were prepared and ready to compete. The Sportsman class nearly doubled in size from race 1 this weekend, and all of the added racers are very accomplished, and extremely competitive.

Unfortunately our new engine and completely new setup caused issues all day long. We fought issues with gearing, alignment changes, and carburetor issues all day long from the first practice all the way through the feature. Enzo held his composure very well and stayed positive and focused throughout the day, but we were not able to chase down and resolve the root cause of why we couldn’t lock in the performance and setup that would put Enzo back on pace. We’re heading back to the shop to start digging deeper into our equipment issues, and pushing to have a setup that is competitive for our next event. We will be back at The Briggs & Stratton Motorplex this coming Tuesday May 26 for the non points race opener for the Tuesday night points series.

Days like this aren’t what we look forward to, but these are the days that push us to work even harder. Knowledge and experience is earned with both wins and losses, and we are staying focused and pushing to sort out these issues early in the season.

As always, we thank our sponsors for all of the support we receive throughout the season!

We’re back Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America tomorrow for the first weekend series points race of the season!

Last night Enzo was back at K1 Speed Milwaukee for race 5 of the series. He started the evening with a practice laps and clocked the fastest junior lap of the week in practice. He started qualifying with a great stride, and midway through this race was in first place. Unfortunately his kart quickly began losing power, and he finished in 4th place with his group. He started the feature race in P6, and pushed to work his way towards the front, but yet again experienced kart issues midway through the feature, and the race was stopped so they could replace his kart. He didn’t have enough laps or momentum from a new kart on cold tires to make up anymore positions, and finished the feature in 5th. We talk about situations like this, that are out of our control regularly, and he kept his cool and accepted the results with a positive attitude. Unfortunately this pushed him back to 2nd place overall in the points standing. Outdoor Karting at Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America will now start to prohibit attending some of the league races at at K1 Speed, however in the event that outdoor karting is postponed due to rain, we will continue to attend as many events as possible at K1 Speed. We are looking forward to the first weekend points race this coming Saturday May 9, at the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America!šŸ

The 2026 kart racing season is off to a great start. Yesterday Enzo competed in the first race of the season in the weekend points series at Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America. This was a non points race, and a great way to get acquainted with the extremely talented group of young racers that Enzo will be competing against this season. The Sportsman class had 7 racers entered in this event, and this grouping of racers is certain to make for an action packed and extremely competitive season. Every racer in this group is experienced and competitive, and most hold a previous class championship title. All of these racers are very familiar with each other, and they work well with each other on and off the track. There is no doubt the Sportsman class will be one of the most exciting and competitive groups to watch this season!

We arrived well prepared for this first event, and stayed focused the entire day. Overall we had a great day. Our brake issues from the previous test session have been completely resolved, and Enzo was very happy with the overall feel of the current kart setup, that we are constantly trying to adjust and perfect. We encountered a few alignment and steering issues through the day, and Enzo was always confident that he could adapt to the new adjustments.

Heat 1 P6-P6
Heat 2 P2-P6
Feature P6-P6

Enzo will be back at K1 Speed Milwaukee this coming Tuesday May 5, to continue to defend his current 1st place overall points position. We will be back at Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America on Saturday May 9 for race 2, the first points race of the season!

We can’t thank our sponsors and supporters enough, and we’re looking forward to an extremely competitive 2026 kart racing season!šŸ
