Enzo will be celebrating his 11th birthday doing what he loves! Tomorrow kicks off a busy week of racing at Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America. We’re looking forward to the Weekend Series Race 5. Racing starts at 12 noon. Enzo will have a special selection of Hot Wheels to hand out to his track buddies, so stop by the Grueneberg Racing trailer for an awesome birthday celebration treat!

The weather had had different plans for today. We were able to get the first practice session in, and then the rain hit hard. Racing is cancelled for this evening, and is rescheduled for Thursday 8/27.

We were really looking forward to spending the day at Road America for the IMSA races today. Rain forecasted all day had us pivot our plans a bit. Instead we are staying dry at K1 Speed Milwaukee. It only made sense to come here since we were both here exactly 10 years ago! Fortunately the weather looks to be clearing up for the 6 hour endurance race tomorrow, and we’re looking forward to making the trip up to the National Park of Speed!

It’s race day! We’re looking forward to a very interesting track layout, running counterclockwise. Enzo has been trying to make the most out of the remainder of the karting season after being gone for summer vacation followed by an unexpected medical leave of absence. As a team, we’re happy to be back in our favorite environment, working together to keep getting as much valuable seat time as possible! 🏁🏁

A beautiful and hot night for racing! Just wrapped up practice for the first Tuesday night race of the season at Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America. Qualifying starts at 6pm. 🏁🏁

Race 2 of the weekend points series at Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road Americais in the books. We came into this event with our typical mindset that preparation is a key factor to achieving the results we are working for. We spent another late night in the shop switching over to this season’s new engine, and had the kart dialed in. We arrived relaxed and ready to compete, knowing we were prepared and ready to compete. The Sportsman class nearly doubled in size from race 1 this weekend, and all of the added racers are very accomplished, and extremely competitive.

Unfortunately our new engine and completely new setup caused issues all day long. We fought issues with gearing, alignment changes, and carburetor issues all day long from the first practice all the way through the feature. Enzo held his composure very well and stayed positive and focused throughout the day, but we were not able to chase down and resolve the root cause of why we couldn’t lock in the performance and setup that would put Enzo back on pace. We’re heading back to the shop to start digging deeper into our equipment issues, and pushing to have a setup that is competitive for our next event. We will be back at The Briggs & Stratton Motorplex this coming Tuesday May 26 for the non points race opener for the Tuesday night points series.

Days like this aren’t what we look forward to, but these are the days that push us to work even harder. Knowledge and experience is earned with both wins and losses, and we are staying focused and pushing to sort out these issues early in the season.
