Wow what a weekend, as most of you may have already saw I was able to bring the Longhorns back together for one last tourney, yeah some people have done it in the past with their teams and I appreciate the fact that them doing it gave me an opportunity to do one myself. This weekend wasnt about winning trophies, jackets or championships, it was about the kids I coached and the fun we had while playing the game we all love dearly. I will be the first to admit their were some tears shed on Saturday but they were tears of the joy I had in seeing them and how proud I am of each and every kid that ever played for me. I have coached kids that are now playing in college, one who was drafted this year, kids that are in college and not playing, kids that have played in college world series and various levels, hell I even coached a couple kids that are parents now, which by the way they are great parents. I have received messages on FB, text messages and there have been posts on here all weekend about the thanks to me for putting this together, it really wasnt that hard believe it or not, a few text messages and I knew right away it would happen. We had kids come again from all over to play, North Delaware, Central Delaware, South Delaware, Maryland and all the way from Florida(took him 18 hours on a bus but Spencer Hicks wasnt going to miss it). The dedication these boys showed to me over the years and this weekend shows to me that I will have lifelong friends forever. This weekend gave me another opportunity that honestly I thought I would never see, I was able to put all 3 of my sons on the field at once, thanks Zach Bowerson Michael Bowerson Cody Bowerson, you make me so proud to be your father and you 3 gave me something that will last forever in my heart. Lastly let me say that I want to thank all the parents, families of relatives, and players for this weekend, you reminded me how much fun this game is to coach and that there still is a spot for me somewhere to teach kids. I may not be out there right now but I think I will be in the not to distant future. Thanks to everyone and lots of love from the Bowerson family.
