First GCHS/SCHS Swim practice of the season is tonight 10/6. Any SCS student 7th grade or above can come participate. All athletes must have a physical prior to participating. This Friday will be the official team tryout at our regular practice time.

Practices are 8-8:45 PM M-TH and 5-5:45 PM on Friday each week at The Pavilion.

Congratulations to Aubrey Sutton for being named GCHS Valedictorian!

With immense pride and excitement, Great Crossing High School is honored to announce Aubrey Katherine Sutton as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2025. Aubrey graduates with an outstanding 4.45 GPA and has exemplified academic excellence, leadership, and dedication throughout her high school journey.

She joined GCHS in the fall of her sophomore year (2022) after completing her freshman year at Veritas Christian Academy. During her time at GCHS, Aubrey distinguished herself by excelling in multiple Advanced Placement courses and beginning dual credit coursework as a junior. To date, she has completed an impressive 37 hours of college credit. Her academic achievements are matched by her participation in prestigious programs, including the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (Summer 2023), the Governor’s Scholars Program, and Youth Salute (Summer 2024).
Aubrey has also been deeply involved in extracurricular activities. She has been a dedicated member of the GCHS Academic Team for three years and competed on the GCHS Tennis Team for two. She also swam for the GCHS Swim Team for three years, serving as team captain in her sophomore year.

This fall, Aubrey will continue her academic journey at the University of Louisville, where she plans to major in Marketing.

Congratulations, Aubrey, on your remarkable accomplishments. The GCHS community is incredibly proud of you and excited to see all that your future holds!

Congratulations to our swimmers who competed at the KHSAA State Finals this weekend!

Ella Kaak represented Great Crossing. She placed 13th in the 100 Breaststroke and 17th in the 50 Freestyle.

Emory Coyle and Decklin Jeffs represented Scott County. Emory placed 23rd in the 100 Freestyle. Decklin placed 16th in the 100 Breaststroke with a new school record time of 59.81!

The schedule for tomorrow will be the same as today. Warmups 9:20-9:55 AM. Meet starts around 11 AM.
