Know Before You Go

Unfortunately, we've already seen a river rescue this season in our area. So I want to remind everyone of a few important things before heading out kayaking.

✅ Know the water depth.
✅ Know how fast the current is moving.
✅ Always have a life jacket with you—preferably worn, not just sitting in the kayak.
✅ Check the weather before you leave.
✅ Bring plenty of extra water.
✅ Know your route before you launch.

Take five minutes to look it up on Google Maps. Know where you're putting in, where you're taking out, and what obstacles you may encounter along the way.

We're all adults, and river safety starts with being prepared.
