So I (Coach Gina) realized that I failed to post about an amazing race and meet that these girls had back in November! I’m so sorry! I got sick, then my kids and then our life moved onto the next activity. So sorry!!!
We went to Peoria for our Sectionals this year. Jordan Thomas swam the 50 free. Nyna Schweitzer swam the 50 free and 100 free. They each swam great and had a great day racing.
Jordan Cechowicz had a AMAZING day in the pool. The 100 Fly was her race that day, she also swam the 100 Breast. Going into the 100 Fly event Jordan was placed 11th, which placed her in the 2nd fastest heat. She swims her race and she was on fire!!! She wins her heat and drops 3.57 seconds!!!! We wait together behind the blocks to watch the next race go, the fastest 100 flyers in the Sectionals. We watch the score board as they are coming in for the finishes and we both realize that she just swam the 4th fastest race in the whole event!!! We waited anxiously for the results to come out. As they were announcing the top 8 swimmers we were watching the bewildered looks on some of the other swimmers as they were confused by the placing, but Jordan and I weren’t, we knew what she had just done!! Sure enough when they announced “4th placed Jordan Cechowicz, Geneseo High School!” the other girls and I yelled as loud as we could!! First top 8 placing from a Geneseo Swimmer in a very long time!!!
