What a GREAT day for our program!

Huge THANK YOU to all of the parents who came out to help replace our hurdle boards and stayed to enjoy some crawfish with us. We got a ton accomplished, shared some laughs, and made it a really good time all around.

Because of your time, tools, and willingness to serve, our athletes now have safe, updated hurdles ready for the season. That kind of support makes a real difference and it shows what kind of community we have behind our team.

We are blessed with some truly amazing parents. Your involvement, generosity, and positive energy do not go unnoticed. Strong programs are built on strong families and we have the best.

Yesterday, our athletes competed at the LHSAA State Indoor Championships, and we are proud to announce that three of our outstanding competitors earned medals in Division I competition.

Austen Nelson captured the title of Division I Indoor State Champion in the High Jump, earning a gold medal with a jump of 6 feet, 8.5 inches. This performance not only marked a new personal record, but also the fifth time he has broken the school record. Austen now stands as the first Indoor High Jump State Champion in Dutchtown High School history. An extraordinary achievement.

Keira Melan earned Division I Runner-Up honors in the 1600 meters, securing a silver medal with a time of 5:04.00. Her performance set a new personal record and established a new school record. Keira also advanced to the finals in the 800 meters, placing fourth overall with a time of 2:22.77.

Vivian Cayton placed third in the Division I 60-meter hurdles, earning a bronze medal with an impressive time of 8.96 seconds. Her performance marked a new personal record and a new school record, surpassing the previous record she had set herself.

We are incredibly proud of these athletes for their dedication, perseverance, and exceptional performances on the state stage. Congratulations to all three competitors on representing our school with excellence.
