Varsity fell 10-9 to a very solid and talented Robinson squad tonight. Super proud of the way this team fought tonight. Lot of grit and improvement shown. We started out up 4-3 after doubles and got 6 more wins in singles. Great effort from the hornets tonight. Varsity has our bye week this next week and will be back in action on the 24th vs Academy here in Gatesville.

Last night our JV won 20-5 over Robinson! Great win with a super high quality from our JV tonight. They will be back in action Thursday October 1st against Whitney. Big thank you to Amy Ivy for the great pictures last night! Varsity has a huge district match tomorrow at Robinson at 4:30pm.

Great win for the hornets tonight and the first bagel of the season! The hornets won 19-0 over Mexia tonight and got our first district win! The hornets played very solid all around in both doubles and singles. Varsity will be in action again next Thursday at Robinson and JV will be in action again on Tuesday here against Robinson!

Massive Win tonight for the Hornets!! We came out with a 10-9 win over a very solid Madisonville team in a non district match. The hornets came out firing in doubles and went into singles play with a 6-1 lead. Singles play was a lot tougher but we scraped and clawed our way to 4 more wins. Huge confidence booster for the team going into the second half of district play. Can’t say enough about the grit we showed tonight and super proud of how we played!

Last night the Hornets battled and came up a bit short against the number 19 team in the state and number 2 team in our region 13-6. We started out slow in doubles but we regrouped and played a lost better in singles. Super proud of the improvements that this team has made this season! Varsity will be back in action next Monday against Madisonville in a non district match that will be played at Groesbeck at 4:30pm

Little bit late again but I wanted to give a huge shoutout to our JV for battling extremely hard yesterday against a very gritty Groesbeck squad. We came up just a little short falling 13-11 yesterday. Gatesville won every single girls match yesterday tallying up 10 wins. Our lone win from the boys came from Freshman Zachary Rodriguez. Great tennis was played and we’re only getting better!

The Pre Season Rankings for Team Tennis are in and your Gatesville Hornets come in at the number 7 rank for Region 3. We are super proud and honored to have this rank. It’s only up from here! Varsity has a huge home match on Thursday against the number 2 team in the region in Groesbeck on Thursday. We need everyone to come to the courts!

Little bit late on the post but the Hornets fell yesterday in a very tight hard fought match to the number 10 ranked team in the state in China Spring. Don’t let the official score of 15-4 fool you. Huge shoutouts to Lexi Bryant and Olivia Potts for winning doubles along with Miriam Hernandez and Abigail Shaw for winning doubles. On the singles side it was Lexi Bryant and Miriam Hernandez again getting wins for us. The hornets fought all the way through 100 degree heat all day. We lost a lot of 3rd set tiebreaks (8 total played). But this was a great performance from our players. Super proud of the way they gutted through it! Varsity will be back in action next Thursday against Groesbeck in a huge Home match. We need everyone there for that!
