Deeply saddened to hear that another great person and fellow racer Rex Wert passed away I grew up in the pits of New Paris Speedway every summer with him and his wife Sue and he will be truly missed. Rest easy until we meet again my friend please keep sue and the rest of the wert family in your prayers and please respect their privacy while they are grieving

Tonight, we welcome one of the top announcers in the nation, Will Greenwell, to the Monday Night Rewind presented by ELH Detailing, Federated Auto Parts, and the National Compact Touring Series Presented by Rev X!

Will's voice has been heard on every major streaming platform/service for many of the biggest races around from XR Events to Figure 8 showcases and more. In fact, he was in line to be one of the main voices of Monster Jam before he decided to stay in the grassroots racing scene.

He's been recognized as well for his work with Veterans, and he hosts his own Podcast, The Wild Will Throwdown, which can be heard on all major podcast platforms!

We're very honored to have someone of his caliber on the Monday Night Rewind!

Joining him later in the show will be A.B.R's Mason Metzger after he became the youngest Kalamazoo Speedway Late Model Feature winner last Friday night. For anyone who's watched Metzger over the last few seasons, he's been on the move with improvements each week. Especially in 2026, he's been inching further and further up front, and his late race move with veterans and former champions all around him showed how far he's come in such a short time.

My highlight of the night last night was when I was sitting in the parade lineup getting ready to go a young fan came up to the fence unfortunately I didn’t hear her but her dad yelled at me to get my attention and she is just waving her little heart out at me and then going around the track watching how excited my own kids were to see me coming around after I pulled off I headed up to the stands and gave that young fan and her siblings some pitbull racing stickers as my apology for not realizing that she was trying to get my attention it’s the amazing fans at New Paris Speedway that makes everything worth it every time I pull the long hours in the garage getting my car fixed or the long hours helping Hapner Racing - The New Paris Shark or Joshua Gibson and Art Perdue and a lot of others get their cars ready and how we all ban together to keep each other running the best we can and definitely want to thank Chris and Tracy and all the staff at new Paris speedway for giving us the opportunity to be able to race out there and put on the show we do and also give thanks to Louis 𝙏𝙤𝙥 𝙍𝙤𝙬 𝙍𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖 for the long hours and long drives he puts in to be there to record us crazy drivers
Oh and getting to hangout with the crazy Soviet vehicle inspector Wiktor Ivanovko and the rest of the gang last night and surprise him with a uncrustable but he had to go find a deep fryer because I didn’t think about doing that at the time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
