Todays Thoughts:
Martial Arts training is more than a kick, punch or armbar. Do you want peace of mind, build confidence, get healthier, get stronger and achieve a higher level? What is the worth of something that can change your life?
I wear a lot of hats, and sometimes people get confused with all I do, but one thing that I am extraordinarily passionate about is furthering the benefits of learning martial arts and changing lives. If you know my story, then you know that I understand struggles, pain and things that hinder personal growth. Do you feel alone, do you feel lost, do you feel inner turmoil? Martial arts will help you attain peace of mind. It might take years to overcome some struggles, but it is worth it and is better than sitting in misery, self medicating, taking prescription drugs, or doing the same things that have not worked for years or even decades.
By achieving your black belt, you will be on the way to changing your life and overcoming past family struggles, fears and heartaches. Once people start to realize that only through commitment to change can a person grow, nothing worth doing comes easy and nothing is impossible with determination, then a more positive life becomes possible. You can either keep blaming others for your struggles by holding onto the pain, or set your mind free. Only through the hammering and forging of metal can you have a sword strong enough to sharpen.
I think it's incredibly important for everyone including children and adults who have struggles, to learn to face their fears and train their minds and bodies to help improve their lives. A stagnant mind and body are like stagnant water; without emptying and refiling your glass, your life will never change.
Your fears, stubbornness and self absorbed mindset will continue to hold you back and keep you in the same time loop of pain and anxiety.
Many people have an issue with spending money to learn martial arts to get healthier mentally and physically, yet they often spend thousands on doctors and psychiatrists who prescribe drugs and still little to nothing changes. Learning martial arts helps a person overcome challenges by reseting the mind to achieve peace of mind.
Many people also find excuses to avoid challenging days and fitness.
In the end, proactive and preventive actions are the best cure and dedication to change your life and perseverance is the key.
Change your mindset:
To forgive another isn't something you do for someone else, it's something you do for yourself. It's saying, “You are not important enough to have a choke hold on me.” It's saying, “You don't get to bind me to the past.” It's understanding that you are worthy of a positive future.
It's not how many times you are knocked down or tapped out, it is how many times you step back onto the mats.
