AC RILEY OFFICIALLY JOINS RIVER CITY CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING OWNERSHIP

LA CROSSE, WI — August 9, 2026 — River City Championship Wrestling (RCCW) officially confirms that AC Riley, former RCCW Grand Slam Champion, has acquired the remaining stock formerly held by Derek Cobain’s former business partner, making Riley a 50/50 co-owner of River City Championship Wrestling and River City Wrestling Academy (RCWA).

The shocking announcement came Friday, August 7th, during RCCW’s 12 Year Anniversary Event at the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post #52 in La Crosse.

In an unexpected turn of events, Riley interrupted the evening to reveal that he had completed the acquisition of the outstanding shares from Cobain’s former business partner. The transaction immediately established Riley as an equal partner alongside RCCW owner Derek Cobain.

Cobain was visibly stunned by the announcement and left the area in disbelief.

Following the confrontation, members of Cobain’s legal team confirmed that the transaction was legitimate and that all stock formerly belonging to Cobain’s previous business partner had been acquired by Riley, officially establishing the new 50/50 ownership structure of RCCW and RCWA.

IMMEDIATE CHANGES WITHIN RCCW

Riley wasted little time exercising his newly acquired authority.

Shortly after the ownership announcement, Riley announced the termination of Referee Jonathan, Derek Cobain’s son, citing what he described as a long-documented history of “biased corruption” during his tenure with RCCW.

Effective immediately, Referee Jonathan’s contract with River City Championship Wrestling and all affiliated organizations has been terminated.

The decision marks the first major action taken by Riley since assuming his new position as co-owner.

AC RILEY: “I AM EXCITED TO GET TO WORK”

Speaking about his new role, Riley stated:

“I am excited to get to work bringing RCCW into the future. Derek and I have a history which I believe will allow us to work towards a mutual goal of giving the RCCW fans what they deserve.”

The addition of Riley to the ownership structure represents a significant new chapter for River City Championship Wrestling as the promotion enters its 13th year of operation.

With RCCW continuing to expand its reach throughout the Midwest and RCWA developing the next generation of professional wrestlers, the new ownership partnership will usher in an era of change, new opportunities, and potentially new challenges.

As for Derek Cobain, he could not be reached for comment regarding the acquisition or the events that transpired at the 12 Year Anniversary Event.

River City Championship Wrestling will provide additional updates regarding the new ownership structure and its impact on RCCW and RCWA as information becomes available.
