History! That’s all these guys made this year. From winning district to first time regional champs. The guys finished as the 5th best team in the state to finish the season.

They did it! The boys finished first and will be running at state next week!!

Unfortunately Brianna Palin and Kimberly Huerta fell short but they both ran their best race all year and PR’d.

On to regionals! The boys came away as district champs with Daniel Platas 1st, Zachary Rigsby 5th, Sammy Huerta 6th, Ethan Torres 7th, Oscar Ramirez 11th, Xavier González 12th and Angel Jasso 15th.
The girls have two headed to regionals, Brianna Palin finishing 9th and Kimberly Huerta 10th.
The JV boys finished as JV champs as well with Braxton Evans 1st, Brady Burgess 2nd, Kyle Munoz 3rd, Erick Ramirez 4th, and Nico Rico 6th.
We will be at UTA 10/21 for a chance to make it to state

Gainesville XC took on an extremely challenging course at Castleberry this Friday and came home with not one, but two team victories! The varsity boys fell just short of a perfect score with Daniel Platas, Zack Rigsby, Oscar Ramirez, Sammy Huerta, Xavier Gonzalez, and Braxton Evans all placing in the top 10! The JV boys came a single point short of the perfect score with Ethan Torres, Brady Burgess, Kyle Munoz, Andres Costilla, Erick Ramirez, Luis Giron, and Armando Giron all with top 10 placements! Awesome job to both teams. On the girls side, the varsity finished 4th overall with their Brianna Palin finishing 4th and Kimberly Huerta 9th. The JV girls finished 4th as well with Janely Vasquez (16th) and Britzy Gomez(19th) finishing as their top runners. We will look to continue improving as we travel to Celina next week with our last race before district.

The Gainesville cross country team traveled down south to Valley View this weekend and came back with two team wins and several medals! The race was tight with Daniel Platas placing 5th, Zack Rigsby 6th, and Sammy Huerta 8th. The rest of the boys once again dominated with Angel Jasso placing 9th, Ethan Torres 12th, Oscar Ramirez 15th, Xavier Gonzalez 17th, Braxton 22nd, Brady Burgess 26th, Erick Ramirez 28th, and Kyle Munoz 29th. Every member of the team ran under the 17:20 mark. Our JV boys secured the win with Andres Costilla leading the way finishing second with a time of 17:55.
Our girls continue improving each week with Brianna palin finishing 9th and Kimberly Huerta 10th. The rest of the team improved as well with PRs and trending up as we get closer to district.

Gainesville varsity XC squads traveled to Grand Prairie at the UlL Region Il course and came away stronger than before. The varsity boys, despite multiple setbacks, came away with a close victory and cemented themselves as region and state contenders. The team was led by Zack Rigsby placing 3rd, Daniel Platas placing 4th, Oscar Ramirez 7th, Angel Jasso 8th, Sammy Huerta 9th, Brady Burgess 11th and Xavier Gonzalez 13th.
The varsity girls competed well and came away with multiple PRs and personal victories. The team was led by Brianna Palin placing 21st and Kimberly Huerta 29th. Great performance from both teams.

Our runners of the week from yesterday's meet! Our varsity girls ROTW is Kimberly Huerta who competed in a stacked 5K division and ran a huge personal record! Our JV boys ROTW goes to
Andres Coatilla who nearly had a PR. Our JV girls ROTW goes to Jaisly Bermudez who ran a huge personal record off of a great effort on the day and great effort in practice the whole week! Congrats to all of these runners.

Gainesville XC came home from North Lakes Park yesterday with PRs across the board on the boys side. Oscar R(16:41), Sammy Huerta(16:53), Erick R(17:07), Xavier G(17:11) Braxton E(17:16) Angel J(17:19) Brady B(17:24) Kyle M(17:37)
We also had not one, but two runners break the Gainesville school record for the 5K yesterday.
Senior Zack Rigsby finished with a 15:50 and sophomore Daniel Platas with a 16:11. The previous record was set by Cooper Goldsworthy in 2019 with a 16:23.
