What a nice spotlight!

🌿 Vendor Spotlight: Laura Ruby and Ruby Yoga 🧘

Some businesses become part of a community so naturally it is hard to imagine the street without them. Ruby Yoga is exactly that kind of place.

Front Royal's oldest yoga studio, Laura Ruby opened her doors in 2018 with one intention: a space for every body to connect mind and body.

Laura's story did not begin on a mat. It began in a newsroom. A former newspaper reporter and editor, she discovered yoga as medicine after an injury. What started as healing became a calling. She earned her E-RYT 200 and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider designation and brought Ruby Yoga to Main Street in Front Royal.

Her community roots run just as deep. Laura volunteers in local schools, with youth sports leagues, Girl Scouts, the Humane Society of Warren County, and Reaching Out Now, serving at-risk middle school girls. In 2020 she received the Front Royal Women's Resource Center Dare to Dream Grant to pursue kids yoga and trauma-informed yoga training. That is not a business decision. That is a vocation. 💙

Inside the studio: four classes per week, all different. Vinyasa flow, restorative, chair yoga, beginner-friendly. Capped at 15-16 students for real individual attention. Sound baths, pilates, aerial silks coming soon, and the remarkable Ado Lama mindfulness program partnered with neurologist Dr. Sophia Wu — bridging ancient Buddhist practice with modern neuroscience. 🌟

Laura collaborated with Downriver Canoe Company for the upcoming Solstice on the Shenandoah on June 20 — yoga at the river's edge in one of the most beautiful settings in the Valley. Through our partnership at Headwaters, Laura's practice extends beyond the studio walls and into the retreat experiences we design for our clients.

Laura reached out to Headwaters after the Warren County Tourism Summit and we have been grateful ever since. We both believe transformation happens when people are given real space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect. 🌊

Progress! The scaffolding is off the Murphy Theatre Project, which means it’s one step closer to completion. We’re so excited to see this historic building returned to its original use. 💕

Cooking like my grandmother with fresh produce from the Farm to Market on Main.
These beets and greens from Gooney Bottom Farm taste like good memories.
Not pictured, banana pepper mustard from Candy's Touch of Flavor and pickled cauliflower from Ruibal Family Farm that we’ll be savoring this week.
It’s such a great farmers’ market — be sure to catch it before or after yoga on Sundays. 🫜😍
