Cheerleader Spotlight: Lexi Mendez
Lexi is a sophomore in the Class of 2029 at Freeport High School. She describes herself as strong, brave, and friendly. She enjoys staying active through cheer, flag football, and weightlifting, and loves meeting new people.
Her favorite part of cheer is building friendships and learning and growing together. This season, Lexi hopes to improve her tumbling, become a stronger leader who can help others, and help build a healthy cheer family. She’s proud of balancing her grades with athletics. On Friday nights, she especially enjoys engaging with the student section and dressing up for themed games.
After high school, Lexi hopes to attend FSU, study sports management, and continue pursuing her interest in sports. Her parents inspire her: her dad pushes her to keep working toward her goals, and her mom’s strength and support are qualities she hopes to carry with her. Her favorite verse is Joshua 1:9.
Lexi’s advice to younger cheerleaders is to stay positive, work hard, stay humble, and give their best in everything they do.
We’re glad to have Lexi representing and supporting the Bulldogs! 🧡💙
