Tsunami swimmers turned out this weekend for the 2026 Helen Wang Sunflower Classic, and they brought their A game! Our swimmers have clearly adapted to the long course pool and they were ready to swim fast. There were SO many first time swims, tons of time drops, lots of heat wins and sunflower key chains 🌻, and lots of really brave swimmers trying out some really intense distances. We want to shout out the following swimmers:

Tsunami's long course season got off to a great start this past weekend with the NOVA Long Course Kick Off down in Richmond. Tsunami swimmers rose to the occasion with a ton of first time swims, and many heat wins and ribbons. Our swimmers handled the transition to the 50 m pool so well!

Tsunami’s crew was small but mighty this past weekend at the 2026 SwimRVA Clover Cup! ☘️☘️☘️ There were time drops, first-time events, and some great qualifying times!

Congratulations to the Tsunami Championship Team on their grit and perseverance at the 2026 Virginia Age Group Championships in Richmond, VA.

Tyler Tiberio had outstanding personal bests in the 1000 Free and dropped more than 25 seconds in the 1650 Free. πŸ”₯

Luke Mersiovsky delivered two strong performances with personal best swims in the 100 Back prelims and 200 Back prelims, setting a new Tsunami team record and Eastern Zone Age Group qualification in the 200 Back prelims.

One of the highlights of the weekend was seeing the relay team come together and support one another. After an unexpected injury, Jacob Field, Luke Mersiovsky, Tyler Tiberio, and Ethan Thomas stepped up to compete in the 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay, and 400 Free Relay, demonstrating the comradery and resilience that define this organization.

Congratulations to all the Tsunami swimmers, staff, parents, and coaches on an incredible short course season.

Our Tsunami Championship Team was on fire at the 2026 Virginia Swimming Senior Championships in Richmond!

Henry Olson, Asher Everett, Emma Dunkle, Annie Furrow, and Olivia Denham represented Tsunami with incredible swims and personal best times across many of their events.

Henry (16) set two new Tsunami individual records in the 100 Breast and 200 Breast. He also qualified for Finals in the 50 Breast, finishing 27th overall.

The Senior Women’s Relay of Nyah Coleman, Emma Dunkle, Annie Furrow, and Olivia Denham dropped over two minutes in the 200 Medley Relay.

The Senior Men’s Relay of Colten Reding, Trevor Tiberio, Asher Everett, and Henry Olson set three new Tsunami relay records in the 200 Free Relay, 400 Medley Relay, and 200 Medley Relay.

The short course championship season continues today with the 2026 Virginia Swimming SC Senior Championships in Richmond, VA.

Henry Olson, Olivia Denham, Emma Dunkle, Asher Everett, and Annie Furrow will be representing Tsunami throughout the weekend in various individual events.

The Senior Girls relay team of Nyah Coleman, Olivia Denham, Annie Furrow, and Emma Dunkle will compete in the 200 free relay, 400 medley relay, and 200 medley relay.

The Senior Boys relay team of Henry Olson, Colten Reding, Trevor Tiberio, and Asher Everett will compete in the 200 free relay, 400 medley relay, and 200 medley relay.

Sunday, March 1st, Tsunami wrapped up the 2026 Northern 13 & Over District Championships in record breaking fashion! We had incredible swimmers putting up some all-star swims in prelims and finals. Their enthusiasm and sportsmanship created memories that will last a life time.

The 13-14 Boys 200 Free B Relay of Quinn Gardner, Rocco Visioni, Alistair Lewis, and Jacob Field won 7th place.

The 13-14 Boys 200 Free A Relay of Tyler Tiberio, Preston Woodward, Tyler Tiberio, and Ethan Thomas won the silver.

The 15&O Girls 200 Free Relay of Nyah Coleman, Madeline McCorkle, Evie Field, and Annie Furrow won 7th place.

The 15&O Boys 200 Free Relay of Colten Reding, Henry Olson, Trevor Tiberio, and Asher Everett won the gold and set a new Tsunami Team Record.

The Jeff Rouse Aquatic Center was electric on Saturday, February 28th for Day 2 of the 13&O Northern District Championships.

Smiles were everywhere.High fives were flying. Parents were yelling. Cuts were earned. Medals awarded. Records fell.

The 13-14 Girls 400 Medley Relay of Emma Dunkle, Viv Furrow, Carmen Keyser, and Chloe Hunchuck placed 6th.

The 13-14 Boys 400 Medley B Relay of Jacob Field, Preston Woodward, Quinn Gardner, and Cole Workman placed 7th.

The 13-14 Boy 400 Medley A Relay of Tyler Tiberio, Tripp Wile, Ethan Thomas, and Luke Mersiovsky won bronze.

The 15&O Girls 400 Medley Relay of Evie Field, Annie Furrow, Olivia Denham, and Madeline McCorkle placed 6th.

The 15&O Boys 400 Medley Relay of Trevor Tiberio, Henry Olson, Colten Reding, and Asher Everett won bronze and setting a new Tsunami Team Record of 3:52.01!!

Friday, February 27th, kicked off the 2026 13&O Northern District Championships. Our Tsunami swimmers brought the heat with personal bests swims, numerous final qualifications, age group championship qualifications, senior championship qualifications, and new team records.

The 15&O Girls 400 Free relay of Evie Field, Nyah Coleman, Madeline McCorkle, and Annie Furrow finished in 7th place.

The 13-14 Boys 400 Free Relay of Tripp Wile, Ethan Thomas, Tyler Tiberio, and Jacob Field took home the silver.

The 15&O Mens 400 Free Relay of Trevor Tiberio, Asher Everett, Liam Morgan, and Henry Olson took home gold and set a new Tsunami Team Record of 3:25.69.
