On behalf of the Red-Hott program and all of us who have known and loved him—we want to honor the amazing Bob Straus. In 2001 when a group of students wanted to try to start a dance team at FHS, no one was willing to take it on, but then theater teacher, Bob Straus stepped in and our program began. He has faithfully supported our program for over 20 years. When I started working closely with the program in 2016 and wanted to add professional quality shows and more opportunities, Bob was always one of my biggest supporters. Through the years, he encouraged me along with hundreds of other performers of all ages. The Red-Hotts have been featured in his shows, become directors and choreographers for him and many have benefited from the scholarships he helped us obtain. He had a unique way of making every person feel special and a valuable part of the show which is one of the keys to true leadership and a great teacher—teaching us things that will benefit throughout life.
He helped with many of our shows and made our 2020 COVID summer show possible for which we will forever be grateful. So much was taken from the 2020 class but he helped me ensure they had their moment too. We did it together! Those were good memories.
He was a true example of what a great teacher and educator should be—he selflessly looked out for the students first and he always found a way to make things work even when some told him no. At one of our recent Christmas shows he told me next year he wanted to dance too….and I was looking forward to making that happen. One day we will all dance together Bob! We love you Mr Straus and are forever grateful for your support and kindness. You are already missed so much. —Jennifer Boyd and the entire Red-Hott Program.

Captain Prescila Sanchez

I tried out to be officer because I have loved dancing since I was a little girl and being an officer I get to help them both mentally and physically!

I love the sisterhood the most because when you feel as if you don’t have anyone they are always there waiting for you with open arms

My favorite style of dance would have to be hip-hop or lyrical!

I am so excited for competition because that’s when I get to really see how far we have come.

1st Lieutenant Yandhi Navarrete

Hi! My name is Yandheri Navarrete, but most people know me as Yandhi! I tried out to be an officer because dancing is my passion—it’s the way I express myself and feel most alive. Being part of RedHotts means I don’t just get to dance—I get to grow, lead, and share that love with a team that feels like a second family.

What I love most about RedHotts is the amazing friendships I’ve made. It’s more than just a team—we laugh together, push each other to be better, and create unforgettable memories both on and off the stage.

My favorite style of dance is lyrical. I love how emotional and powerful it is—it lets me tell a story and connect with the audience on a deeper level.

I’m most excited about everything we’re going to accomplish together this year—the challenges, the growth, and all the memories we’re going to make as a team. I can’t wait to see what’s ahead!

Lieutenant Bella Sanchez

I tried out for redhotts because I wanted to lead a team and watch people pursue their dance dreams and watch them grow.

I love redhotts because I love the sisterhood and how close we get with each other.

My favorite style of dance is tap. I’ve done tap for the longest time and it helps me clear my mind when I’m stressed and you can have all kinds of different emotions.

I’m looking forward to watching the team grow and preforming with all the girls on the field!

I tried out for officer because I’ve had a love for dance for as long as I can remember and I want to continue the Red-Hott legacy leading the team to be the best they can be on and off the stage.

What I love most about Red-Hotts is the sister-hood and making wonderful memories with my closest friends!

My favorite type of dance is Hip-Hop because it is upbeat and I love being sassy.

I’m excited about officer camp and bonding with this amazing new team!!

Lieutenant Natasha Gonzales

I wanted to try out to lead the team and to help girls become the best versions of themselves! I also wanted to make sure everyone is having fun, even if they are having a rough day.

What I love most about Red Hotts is our ability to care for one another and becoming everyone’s friend. Another thing I love is all of our traditions like parties, little sisters, and secret sister gifts.

My favorite type of dance is definitely jazz! I love how sassy you can be in the dance and having facials. I also love how sharp you can be in jazz.

I’m most excited about team camp and the many memories I will continue to make as an officer. I also can’t wait to become closer to this team!

I love you all and I can’t wait to see how much y’all will grow!💗

I tried out for social officer because I’m passionate about creating a positive, inclusive, and uplifting environment for our team, I enjoy planning events, celebrating others, and bringing energy to our group.

My favorite thing about Red-Hotts are the fun different types of dances we do!! And of course all the team bonding memories.

I am most excited for the new bonds I will be able to create with our new team!!

Introducing our 2025-26 Red-Hott Social Officers! Social Officer— Emma Gannon

Hi! my name is Emma, and i’m a social officer for the 25-26 season! I tried out for social officer because i’d love to be able to show my artistic abilities through dance and through planning.

What i love most about redhotts is the dancing! i feel the most adrenaline, emotion and energy when im dancing, and i loved dancing for my whole life.

My favorite style of dance is hip-hop! i grew up with it and its fun to be super hype especially at pep rallies.

What i’m most excited about for this year is to be able to see growth in myself and my friends. i can’t wait to be able to help this team and I’m so so excited!
