📝 IVRC Day on the Bay – Ride Recap
What a ride! We had over 35 bikes roll out for our Day on the Bay, representing all skill levels, all kinds of bikes, and all walks of life. The Ferry may have thrown us a curveball, but that didn’t stop us — we cruised across the Bay Bridge and spent the day exploring some of the best roads the Eastern Shore has to offer.
From wide open highways to backroad curves, the ride took us to Sharps Island Lighthouse, into St. Michaels (where we may have stolen the show a bit — lots of smiles and waves from the locals), and down to Doc’s Sunset Grill for lunch, drinks, and good conversation with great people.
A definite highlight: riding through Blackwater Wildlife Refuge — unreal views in every direction — and pushing all the way to Hoopers Island, with bridges and twisties hugged by water on both sides. Just perfect.
We lucked out with solid weather for most of the day — though a few of us got to square up with some afternoon thunderstorms on the ride back. Nature keeps it interesting.
Huge thanks to everyone who came out and rode with us — especially those who pitched in with blocking and lane changes. You made the ride smoother and safer for the whole group.
At the end of the day, this is what IVRC is about: adventure, great experiences, and the kind of camaraderie you can only find on the road.
If you missed this one, don’t worry — the next ride’s always around the corner. Stay tuned, stay ready, and we’ll see you out there. 👊🏽🏍️
