FS Babe Ruth will be holding its first ever Fall League/Sandlot Program at the FS Jim Roberts Community Park - FS Babe Ruth Field. The sessions will be designed for our players to have some skill development on the Babe Ruth field and get a chance to play some lightly supervised sandlot style baseball.

All players must preregister and registration closes on Friday, August 28, 2026. No registrations will be accepted after that date.

Players falling into the Babe Ruth Age Range 13-16 are eligible to participate. Division age is based on players age as of April 30, 2027. Games will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first games will be held in early September and will last for 3 weeks.

The cost for the FS Fall Ball/Sandlot League will be $35! Please check the registration site for division availability and description of league.

End of Season Awards for Franklin Simpson Babe Ruth Baseball. Awards were given out to MVP/Sportsmanship for 1 player from each team, Regular Season first and second place, and End of the Season Tournament Champions and Runners-Up.

American Legion Firing On All Cylinders Against V.F.W.

American Legion easily dispatched V.F.W. on Tuesday at Jim Roberts Community Park, 11-5 to win the end of season tournament and come out on top as champions!

V.F.W. were the first to get on the board in the first when an error scored one run by Aidan Kinnaird.

American Legion captured the lead, 5-1, in the bottom of the first after Corbyn Barnes singled down the left field line, V.F.W. committed an error, Hunter Harris walked, Nate Bridwell walked, and Harris stole home, each scoring one run.

V.F.W. tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a single by Chase Shanklin, an error, and a play.

American Legion flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 10-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a steal of home by Harris that drove in two.

Barnes stepped on the mound first for American Legion. The hurler surrendered two hits and five runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out 11 and walking one. Shanklin began the game for V.F.W.. The pitcher surrendered four hits and 11 runs (eight earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking six.

Zaine Ingram, Dakota Eaton, Barnes, and Jayden Bryson each collected one hit for American Legion. Barnes and Bridwell each drove in one run for American Legion. Harris paced American Legion with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Harris, Bridwell, and Bryson each stole multiple bases for American Legion. American Legion stole 10 bases in the game.

Shanklin and Aidan Kinnaird were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for V.F.W.. Blake Jones led the team with one run batted in.

Come join us tomorrow night as we crown a tournament champion. VFW will be the visiting team vs the home team American Legion. The first pitch will be at 5:30 pm. End of season awards will follow after the conclusion of the ballgame approximately around 7:30 pm.

Rotary Stymied By American Legion

Rotary couldn't keep up with American Legion and fell 10-4 on Monday in the second game of the end of the season tournament.

A double by Corbyn Barnes put American Legion on the board in the bottom of the first.

Rotary tied the game in the top of the second thanks to a play, and a double by Gabe Huff.

American Legion made the score 6-2 in the bottom of the second after Dakota Eaton scored after tagging up, Barnes singled, scoring one run, and Daiden Coleman doubled, scoring two runs.

American Legion added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Easton Hodge drew a walk, scoring one run, and Harley Poole tripled, scoring three runs.

Parker Deweese led things off on the mound for Rotary. The hurler surrendered six hits and 10 runs (nine earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking six. Barnes started the game for American Legion. The pitcher gave up three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out four and walking three.

Houston Antle, Huff, and Deweese each collected one hit for Rotary. Huff went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Rotary had patience at the plate, piling up 11 walks for the game. Miller Yates, Antle, and Jackson Summers led the team with two free passes each.

Poole provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led American Legion with four runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Poole, Coleman, and Barnes each collected two hits for American Legion. Hodge paced American Legion with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game.

American Legion will face V.F.W. on Tuesday night June 16 at 5:30 pm for the end of season championship.

Babe Ruth Awards will follow.

#4 Seed V.F.W. Victorious Over #1 Seed Sexton Bin Builders in the First Game of the End of Season Tournament

V.F.W. was triumphant over Sexton Bin Builders 7-5 on Monday in the first round of the season ending tournament. This was also VFWs first win of the season!

V.F.W. got on the board in the top of the first inning after Sexton Bin Builders committed two errors allowing two runs to score.

A single by Jake Parks extended the V.F.W. lead to 3-1 in the top of the second inning.

Sexton Bin Builders tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to two inside the park home runs by Hunter Hays and Bryson Caudill.

V.F.W. took the lead in the top of the fifth. Blake Jones singled, scoring one run, to give V.F.W. the advantage, 4-3.

Parks started on the hill for V.F.W. and pitched an awesome game! The starter allowed six hits and five runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out nine and walking two. Brooks Kirby stepped on the mound first for Sexton Bin Builders. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking two.

Matthew Foote provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led V.F.W. with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Aidan Kinnaird led V.F.W. with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. V.F.W. had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Chase Shanklin and Ian Lineberry led the team with two free passes each. Kinnaird stole two bases.

Lucas Marr and Caudill each collected two hits for Sexton Bin Builders. Caudill led Sexton Bin Builders with one run batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day.

VFW moves on to the championship game on Tuesday night - June 16 against either Rotary or American Legion.

Sexton Bin Builders ended the season as regular season champions and finished with a record of 6-0.

Update for FS Babe Ruth!!

Unfortunately - we are not going to be able to makeup a few games that were rained out this season. We just don’t have enough time (we are scheduled to be done this week) and the forecast later this week isn’t great.

We will be wrapping up our 2026 by having the end of season tournament as regularly scheduled on Monday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 16. We have placed pictures of the schedule along with awards ceremonies, etc. on this post.

We have had a great three weeks of baseball and appreciate all the players, coaches, umpires, scorekeepers, and families for the support and good 2026 season.

We will see you at the ballpark - Monday and Tuesday nights!
