The MW Golden Badgers opened their 2026 NEFL-ONE Maritime Conference campaign in impressive fashion Saturday night, shutting out the Connecticut Wolves 19-0 at Foley Stadium. In a game dominated by defense, the Badgers controlled the tempo from the opening kickoff and never allowed the Wolves to find any offensive rhythm. MetroWest's defense delivered a shutout victory in Week 1, while the offense did enough to secure a comfortable season-opening win behind a balanced attack.
With the win, the Badgers improve to 1-0 and now turns their attention to a Week 2 showdown with the Vermont Ravens. After an offseason filled with anticipation, the Golden Badgers could not have asked for a better start. The defense set the tone, the offense capitalized on its opportunities, and the Badgers left Week 1 with both a victory and valuable momentum!
