Welcome to the Ridge, Coach Steven Rivas!

Coach Rivas is the new Head Coach of the Fossil Ridge Wrestling team, and he will also be teaching Business at the Ridge.

Coach Rivas was born in Harlingen, Texas, and raised in Carrollton, Texas. He graduated from Hebron High School and earned a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Throughout his life, he has played and/or competed in a variety of sports, including basketball, football, soccer, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, swimming, and volleyball.

In his wrestling career, Coach Rivas has coached for eight years, helping many wrestlers reach the State level, and has also coached collegiate wrestlers. He even qualified for nationals during his senior year of college wrestling. As a teacher, his favorite part is helping students develop healthier, more positive ways of thinking—guiding them as they build a stronger sense of trust and confidence in themselves.

We cannot wait to have you in this journey with us and the many things that we will accomplish together!
