Run It Wednesday Recap ☀️

Another hot Texas evening couldn’t stop this amazing community! 💙 Our North Running Crew showed up, logged the miles.

A huge THANK YOU to Dunkin’ for bringing out the America Runs on Dunkin’ Truck and treating our runners and walkers to refreshing drinks after the run. They were exactly what we needed after those heated miles! 🧡💗

We also want to give a big shoutout to for surprising everyone with ice-cold recovery drinks. There was no better way to cool down, rehydrate, and recover after another warm Texas summer run. We truly appreciate your support!

To everyone who came out whether you ran, walked, or simply hung out afterward thank you for making North Running Crew such a welcoming place. Seeing families, kids, first-timers, and familiar faces together is what makes this community so special.

🚨 North Running Crew Update 🚨
The safety of our community will always come first.
Due to today's Extreme Heat Warning and forecasted temperatures around 105°F, with heat index values expected to feel even hotter, we have made the decision to cancel tonight's official North Running Crew run.
We know this is disappointing, but no workout is worth risking heat-related illness. We appreciate everyone's understanding as we look out for one another.
💙 Stay tuned! Some of our runners may still get together for a casual indoor social. We'll post any meetup details later today, but there will be no official North Running Crew event tonight.
Please stay cool, stay hydrated, and we'll see everyone back on the trails next week! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💙

Who knew a children’s book would inspire one of my North Running Crew events.💙🍧🏃‍♀️

Our Paletas & Miles Run was inspired by the wonderful book Paletero Man by Lucky Diaz , a story I fell in love with while reading it to my granddaughter. It reminds us that summer isn’t just about the heat it’s about kindness, community, sharing, and the sweet treats that bring people together and that’s what NRC is about.

That story sparked the idea for this fun Wednesday Run/Walk getting outside, moving our bodies, building friendships, and celebrating the end of a run with a delicious paleta.
Sometimes the best ideas come from the simplest moments. ❤️
