This weekend these girls took a chance and jumped into a high school-level tournament, knowing we’d be facing older, more experienced competition. We even faced a pitcher who is already playing college softball (how that happened… who knows 😂), but that’s the risk you take in a tourney like this .
Did we get the outcome we wanted? No.
But what DID happen was something to be proud of.
🥎 These girls competed.
🥎 They never backed down.
🥎 They earned a 4th-place finish out of 18 teams. And stayed in the top bracket all weekend.
As coaches, that’s exactly what we ask for—compete, trust yourselves, and grow.
A few special shoutouts:
🤍 #44 Capri (Class of 2031)
This kid is heading into 8th grade and is already doing BIG things. She is the hitter you want walking to the plate in any situation. She absolutely crushes the ball, moves runners, and continues to get better every weekend. Her growth this season as both a player and a leader has been incredible. Her future is SO bright, and trust me… she’s already turning heads. 👀
🤍 #05 Paisley (Class of 2030)
Paisley came to us this spring as a catcher/second baseman. When we told her we wanted to move her to the outfield, she said, “Don’t put me out there—you’ll regret it. I can’t catch a fly ball!” 😂
Little did she know, her coaches saw something in her before she saw it in herself.
She has been an absolute sponge, soaking up every bit of instruction and trusting the process. This weekend she made huge plays, executed situational hitting exactly how we practice it, and showed just how much she’s grown. We couldn’t be more proud of her.
🤍 #11 Trinity (Class of 2029)
Trinity is one of those players every coach loves. She doesn’t complain. She doesn’t seek attention. She just shows up, works, and does her job.
She’s played second base and the outfield for us, but we wanted to challenge her by moving her to third base. After only TWO practices there, we started her at third in Game 1.
After the game she simply said, “Thank you for believing in me.”
Now we just need her to believe in herself as much as we do.
🤍 #10 KK (Class of 2031)
One of our youngest players, but you’d never know it by the way she competes.
She stepped into the outfield against older girls and never flinched. Her words said it all:
“I don’t care if they’re older than me… I know ball.”
YES YOU DO, kiddo! 💪
She had a great weekend both at the plate and in the field and continues to prove that heart has no age.
And while these girls earned special shoutouts, every player contributed this weekend, just a few more key roles …
🩵 #8 Veh is the teammate every coach needs. She’s always making sure equipment is set up and put away, checking on teammates, making sure everyone has what they need, and leading by example. Those little things don’t go unnoticed.
🩵 #26 Brooke battled through a back injury she suffered at practice, but instead of feeling sorry for herself, she became one of the best teammates in the dugout. She cheered every inning, grabbed helmets and bats, helped organize equipment, and supported every single girl on this team. That’s what being a teammate is all about.
🩵 #19 Maddie is slowly finding her way back to the pitching circle and, more importantly, finding her confidence again. It takes courage to step back into that circle, and she did it without hesitation. No complaints. No excuses. Just a simple, “Thank you, Coach.” We are incredibly proud of her.
This weekend wasn’t just about wins and losses.
It was about growth.
It was about believing in each other.
It was about competing against players who were older, stronger, and more experienced—and proving we belong.
The future is bright for this group, and we’re just getting started.
