Warriors of the Week: Week 3

Sophomore Tony Evers and Freshman Grant Pearson

This week our Warriors of the Week were selected by the WOW Committee for their enthusiasm and work of supporting the community last week - and seeing the names it 100 percent translates to the football field.

Tony has been steadily growing since fall camp. His consistency earned him a spot as starting Left Tackle as a Sophomore and he is holding it down week in and week out. He asks great questions, is coachable, and is a true student of the game. The WOW Committee noted Tony for being a great leader and having a tremendous attitude; further proving his leadership both on and off the field.

Steady. Trustworthy. Respected. Tony Evers.

Grant has displayed a strong work ethic from the beginning of summer until now. He is dependable, and will tackle any role the team throws his way. This includes knowing and performing at a variety of roles going both ways on the offesnive and defensive lines during Freshman games, and eating up snaps in relief during JV Saturday mornings. The WOW Committee noted Grant for muscling through it all as he did a lot of physical labor over the weekend.

Versatile. Selfless. Hardworking. Grant Pearson.

Warriors of the Week: Week 2

Senior Coby Schmitz and Freshman Wes Brown

Coby continues to perfect the technique of his job on the defensive line as his senior season begins. He was voted on as an accountability captain of this football team by his teammates. Additionally, it was noted by a flag football parent/coach that Coby’s spirit leading and coaching his 5th and 6th grade group last night deserved some praise.

Character. Class. Dependable. Coby Schmitz.

Wes had an outstanding week of practice. As a freshman, a lot of his job lies with him on the scout team as a wide reciever/safety pushing the varsity team and giving them a great look. Wes continues to go above and beyond, not only making great plays, but pushing upperclassmen each and every rep putting them in a position in which they cannot take a rep off.

Reliable. Fearless. Ascending. Wes Brown.

Warriors of the Week: Week 1

Sophomore Andrew Martinez and Sophomore Ross Timmerman

It’s hard to talk about these two separately because they have done so much of the same during this early part of the year. Both continue to challenge themselves and the older guys they line up against each and every snap on both the offensive and defensive lines. Whether they are giving “scout” looks, or filling in for a varsity job, they prove to be relentless and it makes our team better day in and day out.
