On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice is the reason we are able to gather with family and friends, enjoy our communities, and experience the freedoms they protected. Today is not only a day of reflection, but of gratitude — for their courage, their commitment and the legacy they leave behind.

Thank you so much to the ladies who were able to take time and meet up with me today! I hope to schedule more of these coming up to see you again and meet the rest of you!

I promise to have a little more of a structure to future meetups. It actually gets easier when there's more participants.

Having other people meet up face to face makes this more real and spending time there with you all helped me see what else needs to happen to make the fields and the whole area usable.

I am completely open to answering any questions anyone may have and love if anyone has experience with bothering MWR, or whoever I may need to speak with over at the McChord fitness center, to make sure they do what needs to be done.

Finding your people is what our league is all about. This past weekend Ladies of Carson Kickball - LOCK had games on Mother’s Day. The ladies showed up to support and celebrate each other. We hope we build that kind of community here!

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to play, cheer, support their teams, and be part of today’s league photo! We loved seeing all the team spirit, fun outfits, and energy from every team.

One of the best parts of this league is the community we continue to build both on and off the field. We appreciate every player, volunteer, family member, and supporter who helps make this league what it is.

And of course, Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms and women in our LOCK family! 💐

Good evening everyone!
I just wanted to pop on here and say hello!
My name is Theresa and I am just one of the team of ladies that is trying to organize Ladies of Lewis-McChord Kickball to be a reality!

So, for an update: My research of fields that will meet our needs and be available for the times and days we will be needing them has led me to Baker and St. Helen's fields on the corner of Main St. and B street, behind the McChord Fitness Center.

Speaking of times, I had a few comments and messages about when we will be practicing and playing games. So, once we have teams formed up, each coach will confer with their team about what day(s) of the week will work best for practices, but it will most likely be during the week in the evenings. Games will be Sunday afternoons. Once we get to registration we will know how many teams we will need and that will tell us how much time we will need to have to make sure every team plays each week.

Now, it is JBLM's duty to keep these fields in shape. That being said, they seem to have neglected these a bit and my experience with Ft. Carson is that the post will do the bare minimum for upkeep. That's okay though, because we can rally together as a league and put in the effort as well, right? Right?! Okay, how about if I sweeten the deal? Our parent organization, Army Spouse Kickball, is registered as a non-profit and any extra hours anyone puts in toward helping the league will count as volunteer hours (tell the active duty members in your life who may need some). There are stands between the two fields that need a good power wash and bathrooms that we need to request someone open, so I cannot speak to the state of them, but I will be talking to JBLM about doing something if they are in bad shape. We want to make sure everything is clean and safe enough for players and families.

So, right now I'm formulating plans to have anyone who wants to and is a available to meet up at the fields (I will update soon with a date and time). We can assess what needs to be done, go over basics for those who are rusty on how to play, kick the ball around and maybe get a scrimmage going, and just meet to say hello! You will not need to register or pay for anything yet, I just wanted to meet up and not leave everyone hanging. I was so psyched to get such a large response from you all.

Ladies of Lewis-McChord Kickball is where military spouses and active duty women come to kick balls, laugh way too hard, and make friends who actually get this lifestyle 💙

All skill levels are welcome — whether you’re a kickball pro, haven’t played since elementary school, or just here for the vibes. This league is about connection, camaraderie, and having something that’s just for us.

Our spouses get built-in teams and daily adult interaction… meanwhile, we’re juggling kids, work, deployments, PCS chaos, or just trying to remember who we were before military life took over. And for our active duty ladies — this is your chance to step away from the day-to-day, have fun, and connect outside of work.

No pressure. No tryouts. No drama.
Just kickball, community, and a whole lot of laughs.
