Fort Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club

Fort Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club The Rod and Gun Club is open to active and retired military, DoD civilians and family members. The club's membership is over 380 and growing.

The club sponsors organized seasonal hunting and fishing events and conducts meetings the second Wednesday of each month, with a dinner social prior. In addition, the club provides a State certified hunters' education course, which is required before obtaining a hunting license for those born on or after July 1, 1957 or for those who hunt on the military installation regardless of age. un Club manages dog boarding kennels, which are available on a short-term or long-term basis. The club is family oriented, so bring your entire clan and join us. For more information call 684-1703 and for the kennels call 684-3461.

Look at this great catch!! While on leave Kelly Sadler the clubs officer representative and her husband Chuck the clubs hunting coordinator went on a family fishing trip in Tamp, FL. As you can see Sebastian and his sister Isabel out fished both of them!!! Great catch team Sadler!!

Don't forget that this Saturday is the kids fishing derby. Registration begins at 8 and fishing is 9-11. It is free for Rod & Gun club members and $3 per kid if not a member.

We are also needing volunteers for shore patrol to help record catches and assist with fishing.

Big Tom Down!! Rod and Gun Club Member Jake Fust harvested this big Tom in Leavenworth County thanks to a local land owner. He had a 10.5 in beard, 1.5 in spurs and was 23lbs.

Long time Rod & Gun Club member Leonard Sloat harvested two amazing Turkeys over the last 10 days. Look at these amazing birds!

In Montana (left picture) he was able to harvest a Marriam which was 19lbs, 9.5” beard, and had 7/8” Spurs take at an elevation of 4300 ft.

In Oklahoma (right picture) this big Tom did not stand a chance he was 21lbs, 10.25” beard, with 1 1/8” Spurs.
