š Does the injections scare you away from starting your egg freezing journey?
Theyāre tiny. Quick.
After day one it just becomes part of your routine.
I was like⦠wait, this is what I was stressed about?
āØļø
A few things I was worried about:
Hormones getting messed up
Gaining weight
Mood swings
Long-term effects
Reality:
Youāre not putting something foreign into your body.
Youāre just increasing hormones your body already makes⦠for like 10ā12 days.
And then it goes back to normal.
āØļø
The āweight gainā is mostly just bloating.
Not fat.
It goes away pretty fast after.
āØļø
Mood-wise⦠I honestly felt normal.
Maybe a little more aware of my body, but nothing dramatic.
(I know some people feel it more though.)
āØļø
Also something I didnāt know:
Youāre not āusing upā your eggs.
Youāre just maturing the ones your body was already going to lose that month.
āØļø
The only thing thatās actually worth being aware of is OHSS,
but with modern protocols itās way less common than it used to be.
āØļø
Biggest takeaway:
The fear before starting
was worse than actually doing it.
āØļø
If youāre considering it, donāt let the injections be the thing that scares you off.
