Wing Chun Mastermind: THE ROAD TO LEUNG SHEUNG TONG INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION
武林中學拳者，多如過江之鯽。有人圖強身，有人怕吃虧，也有人學得三招兩式，便急着掛牌稱師。殊不知，拳打得響，未必教得明；招式記得多，未必傳得真。詠春先求守中，做人亦然。小念頭教人收心，尋橋教人進退，標指教人臨危取勢；黐手不是鬥氣，木人樁亦非敲木取樂，而是一面鏡子，照出自己的急躁、懶惰與虛浮。自己會打，只算本事；能把別人教會，才叫資格。謹賀FortCollinsWingChun《科羅拉多梁相堂學生會》新館開幕。該會為《世界梁相堂詠春同學總會》附屬研習小組，由謝永恩師傅之學生RainEspinoza傳習。館舍雖新，根源有自；地方雖遠，同出一門。RainEspinoza謙遜守分、耐心求進、尊重規矩、踏實練習，正是梁相堂詠春所珍重的品格。FortCollinsWingChun以研習小組身分，在謝永恩師傅指導下穩步成長。守正不躁、默默耕耘、敬重師承，足以贏得同門的信任、欣賞與自豪。
In the martial world, students are as numerous as fish crossing a river. Some train for health, some for self-protection, while others learn three techniques, take a photograph, and immediately call themselves “Sifu.” But fighting well does not mean teaching clearly. Knowing many techniques does not mean transmitting them faithfully. Wing Chun begins by protecting the centerline; character must also have a center. Siu Nim Tau settles the mind. Chum Kiu teaches movement, distance, advance and retreat. Biu Jee teaches recovery and opportunity in danger. Chi Sau is not a contest of ego, and the Wooden Dummy is not merely timber to strike. They are mirrors revealing impatience, laziness, pride, and shallow understanding. Being able to practise Wing Chun is skill. Teaching another person correctly is qualification. Today, we congratulate Fort Collins Wing Chun (https://wingchun.works)—a study group affiliated with the Worldwide Leung Sheung Tong Wing Chun Confederation—on the opening of its new home. Led by Rain Espinoza, student of Sifu Ben Der, the school is new, but its roots are deep. Colorado is far from Hong Kong, yet we share one lineage and one martial family. Rain's humility, patience, respect for proper boundaries, and commitment to steady practice embody the character valued in Leung Sheung Tong Wing Chun. Fort Collins Wing Chun remains a trusted study group, developing naturally under Sifu Ben Der’s guidance. Honest conduct, quiet dedication, and respect for lineage earn the trust, appreciation, and pride of the entire martial family.

2024年8月1日，《世界梁相堂詠春同學總會》成立。幾位追隨梁相一脈、受五大長老親授、習拳逾二十年的老學生，經多年磨拳、助教、守堂、做人，獲頒教練證書。此證不是金漆招牌，而是一紙承諾：懂源流、通拳理、能教學、守武德，也肯為學生與師門負責。如今，美國、香港及中國內地皆已有認證教練，梁相堂一脈漸開枝散葉。總會所守，不過五件老實事：功夫傳承、教練認證、文化交流、保健養生、慈善公益。守源流而不抱殘，立標準而不賣名，同門切磋而不爭高低，以拳強身養性，更以功夫扶弱助人。拳若無德，只是逞強；門派若無制度，終是一陣鑼鼓。
The Confederation was formally established on August 1, 2024. Senior students with more than twenty years in the Leung Sheung lineage earned instructor certification through decades of training, assisting their teachers, serving their schools, preserving the tradition, and proving their character. A certificate is not a golden signboard. It is a written promise: to understand the lineage and principles, teach safely and clearly, uphold martial ethics, and accept responsibility for students and tradition. Our five missions are Lineage Preservation, Instructor Certification, Cultural Exchange, Health and Wellness, and Charitable Service. We preserve tradition without becoming trapped in the past. We establish standards without selling titles. We exchange knowledge without fighting over rank. We strengthen the body, cultivate the mind, and serve others. Kung fu without virtue is aggression. A lineage without standards becomes noise.

總會由五大長老守源流、定方向；州郡分堂掌門負一方聲譽；高級教練承上啟下；合格教練依法授徒；恒常學員日日磨拳。位分有先後，人格無高低；只是站得越高，肩上責任越重。本會學院分為三級：(1)州郡分堂乃一州一省之「卓越中心」。主持者須教學多年、學生人數成規模、聲望經得起歲月查問，並由五大長老共同批准。「分堂掌門」不是戴頂帽子，而是有事敢當，有功肯讓。(2)城鎮分校由「合格教練」主持。須完成全部課程，長年協助師父授課，並有穩定場地與教學能力。今日公園東角、明日停車場西邊，場地不穩，課程與人心亦難穩。(3)研習小組則供搬遷離師的資深學生，與三五知己操拳黐手。可溫習，不可冒充分校；可互助，不可亂發證書；未得資格，莫自封掌門。能守本分，已是武德。
Our lineage is guided by the Five Elders of the High Council. Within the confederation, there are three levels of operation: (1) Provincial or state-level Tongs, which serve as Centers of Excellence led by Gatekeepers; (2) Municipal or city-level Kwoons, which serve as academies led by Certified Instructors; and (3) Study Groups, where experienced students may practice forms and Chi Sau but may not claim school status or issue certificates. Knowing one’s proper role is itself a martial virtue.

本會學員要走上認證教練之路，先問自己三句：(1)你愛的是詠春，還是別人叫你師父？(2)你肯否把最沉悶的基本功教上一百遍？(3)學生進展緩慢時，你先怪他愚笨，還是先查自己講得不明？若三問無愧，方可談教練證書。教練之道，貴在不欺：不欺師承，不欺學生，不欺自己半桶水。不可交錢買名，不可憑合照稱嫡傳，更不可東抄一招、西拼一式，煮成連自己也說不清的雜碎。年資亦非只看日曆。二十年可以是二十年苦功，也可以是一套拳重複二十年。真正資格，要看是否知源流、通拳理、能示範、會糾錯、懂安全，也看名利當前，能否守住規矩。真正的教練，學生打錯不辱罵，學生進步不搶功，同門有成不嫉妒；遇到不懂，敢說不懂，再回去請教師長。證書到手，只是起點。從此教出的每一個攤手、膀手、伏手，都在替前人說話，也在替後人開路。
Every future instructor must answer three questions: (1) Do you love Wing Chun, or merely being called Sifu? (2) Will you teach one fundamental movement one hundred times? (3) When a student struggles, will you blame the student, or first examine your own explanation? The instructor’s road begins with honesty. Do not lie about lineage, deceive students, purchase titles, or mistake a photograph with a famous master for inheritance. Twenty years may mean twenty years of progress, or one year repeated twenty times. A genuine instructor demonstrates correctly, identifies errors, teaches safely, protects the rules, and remains humble before fame and profit. When uncertain, the honest answer is: “I do not know. Let me ask my teacher.” Certification is not the end. It is the beginning. Every Tan Sau, B**g Sau, and F**k Sau taught thereafter speaks for the generations before us and opens the road for those yet to come.

故熱愛詠春者，當先做「恒常學員」，再成資深學生；先助師教人，再受考核認證；取得合格教練資格，方可主持城鎮分校；待教學有年、聲譽穩固、門生成材，再由五大長老批准建立州郡分堂。一步一拳，沒有捷徑。弘揚梁相堂詠春，不是四處插旗，而是走到一處，便使一處的人身體更健、心性更穩、同門更和。教少年守禮，勝過教他逞強；陪長者穩步，勝過逼他追求花巧；帶同門行善，勝過在網上爭誰最正宗。拳館燈火不必耀眼。只要夜夜有人紮馬、有人黐手、有人笑道一句「再來」，拳火便不會斷。能守此道，證書便是承諾，拳館便是香火，學生便是門中未來。如此一代傳一代，梁相堂詠春自可不靠吹噓而遠播，不靠爭名而長存。
First become a student. Then a senior student. Assist your teacher. Pass formal evaluation. Become a Certified Instructor. After years of responsible teaching, stable reputation, and students of skill and character, one may earn approval from the Five Elders to lead a regional branch that potentially grows into a center of excellence. One step. One technique. One responsibility at a time. There is no shortcut. Promoting Leung Sheung Tong Wing Chun is not planting flags. It means leaving people healthier, calmer, more disciplined, and more united. Teaching respect is greater than displaying strength. Helping an older student move confidently is greater than performing flashy techniques. Serving the community is greater than arguing online about authenticity. A kung fu school need not shine brightly. Its light need only remain lit. As long as someone practises the stance, trains Chi Sau, and smiles before saying, “Again,” the flame of Wing Chun will endure. The certificate becomes a promise. The school becomes the home of the lineage. The students become its future. Passed faithfully from generation to generation, Leung Sheung Tong Wing Chun will travel far without boasting and endure without fighting for fame.
