Your pelvis is designed to move during birth.
In this video, I’m moving my hips slowly—feeling the stretch, exploring my range of motion and allowing my pelvis to move without forcing it.
During labor, the ability to rock, sway, circle your hips and change positions can help create space as your baby navigates through the pelvis. Belly dance is a fun way to practice that mobility, improve body awareness and become more comfortable moving before labor begins.
I’m thinking about starting a beginner-friendly Belly Dance for Birth class at Ivy Fitness Center on Fort Carson. No dance experience—just gentle movement, music and birth preparation.
I’m the Personal Trainer and Certified Rolfer® at Ivy, with a background in Labor and Delivery nursing, childbirth education and pre/postnatal fitness. I want to create something fun and useful for the pregnant women in our military community.
