From Mark.
While I am finally about to lay down in our new living quarters trailer after a busy week getting things ready for the Funny Car Chaos Supernationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk Ohio, it pains me to say we are still in Texas.
First off, after Dallas we took the new trailer to the dealership for some warranty work which ended in the trailer being shipped back to the factory for a bathroom makeover due to some faulty equipment installed at the factory. That delayed me getting the trailer back until yesterday.
I got to the shop today and found some issues with the brakes on the funny car as well as an unfinished piece for the new throttle cable setup.
We operate our funny car team with zero outside funding, and between the setbacks and the chance of inclement weather forecasted in Ohio this weekend, I had to make the tough decision to not make the 2100 mile round trip and risk outlaying thousands of dollars to transport 2 rigs, the crew, and all that entails financially with a risk of a rain out.
I apologize to our friends up North, and I am hopeful things will work out better for us at the next race.
