The 2026 season for the Wisconsin Scorpions 12U - Coach Fisher team came to a close this weekend in Green Bay at the Class C State Tournament.
The record and final result did not reflect the level of softball these young ladies played, but anyone who watched them compete this weekend knows how much heart, grit, and fight they brought to the field.
As coaches, we could not be more proud of this group.
This weekend had a little bit of everything. Blood, sweat, grit, and yes… plenty of tears at the end. These girls left everything they had on the field, and when that happens, it shows just how much passion they have for the game and for each other.
There is also a hard but valuable lesson in weekends like this. Sometimes, even when you give your absolute best, the result still does not go your way. That stings. Anyone who has run enough tread off their tires has been there many times before. But those moments also give us something important. They show us where we can grow, what we can keep building on, and why we keep pushing to get better.
When we look back across the entire season, there is no doubt in our minds that every single player on this team grew as a ballplayer. More importantly, they grew as teammates, competitors, and young people. We are confident that each of them will continue to grow and become even better in the future.
One final thought for any other coaches reading this: there are plenty of times throughout a season when players need to be challenged and pushed to grow. But never miss an opportunity to show empathy, support, and love for your team after they have laid it all out on the field. Those moments matter too.
To our players, thank you for letting us be part of your 2026 Scorpions season and your lives over the past year. We sincerely appreciate the opportunity, the effort, the memories, the laughs, the tough moments, and everything this season had to offer.
Lastly, we would also like to extend a very special thank you to all of our awesome parents who helped in countless ways, both big and small, throughout the year. From organizing team bonding days, running and streaming GameChanger, keeping the official scorebook, taking amazing team pictures, handling warm-up and walk-up music, helping with gear, cheering from the sidelines, and all the little things in between, this team does not happen without you.
It truly takes a village to run a team, and we are incredibly grateful for ours.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
