Flat Rock Community High School Co-Ed Cross Country

Happy Thursday and almost last day of school! For any incoming freshmen (Thomas Simpson Middle School) or interested current 9th-11th grade students (Flat Rock Community High School), we will begin our summer training next week. I have included schedules for the month of June and July (may be subject to change). We will practice Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 AM to 8:00 in the Bobcean parking lot. Congrats, Jake!!

At Regionals today Jacob Stanislawski ran a 4:28 in the 1600m race finishing 2nd overall. Jake also took home the gold in the 3200 m run with a time of 9:36.8 and qualifying for states! Congratulations Jacob! 🐏💚💛

📍 WHERE: FRCHS Gym (Home Bleachers)

What to Expect:

🖋️ The Main Event: Individual signing ceremonies highlighting our athletes' high school accolades and announcing their college choices.

🏆 Photo Ops: We’ll have a custom FR backdrop set up, plus championship hardware and rivalry trophies on display!

🍕 Food & Fun: Enjoy music and free Jet's Pizza, generously catered by the Flat Rock Ram Booster Club! (You are also welcome to bring your own favorite snacks and drinks).

📺 Tributes: A big screen displaying each athlete's achievements as they sign their letters of intent.

Let’s pack the bleachers and give these athletes the send-off they deserve! 💚💛🐏

Today, Jacob Stanislawski and Lucas Taraszkiewicz participated in the Lower Peninsula Boys D2 XC State Finals at Michigan International Speedway. Both boys ran well and ended their Ram careers with a bang. Jake was All-State for the 3rd time (4x qualifier) and took 17th with a time of 15:52. Lucas took 64th with a season best 16:25. A great way to end the FR XC season!

Today the coed FR XC team participated in the D2 Regionals at Lake Erie Metro Park. Jake Stanislawski took second overall and broke his own school record with a 15:47! Lucas Taraszkiewicz also qualified for states with a 10th place finish and a time of 16:28. Dario Barella (18:48), Brendan Cotter (19:43) and Graham Tanner (19:46) finished the season strong with career PRs. Ben Crock participated in the PROM race and also hit a career PR of 22:22! The boys finished 6th overall and had a great day (and season) of racing! On the girls side, Diane Percha ended her season on a high note with a PR of 28:03!

Tonight the co-ed FR XC team competed at Willow Metro Park for the Huron League Championship. The team as a whole took second, behind Airport. This led to an overall season tie for second in the league with New Boston Huron. Jacob Stanislawski won the meet with a season best 16:01. Lucas Taraszkiewicz earned All-League Honors as well with a 5th place finish and a season best of 16:29. The rest of the crew had many career PR's as well from Brayden Brodie (17:42), Calvin Haydamacker (17:57), Brendan Cotter (19:50) and Graham Tanner (19:51). Congrats, fellas!

The Co-Ed FR XC team participated in the Dave Bork Classic this afternoon at Munson Park. Kayle Babowicz medaled by taking 10th place in the Junior division of the Junior/Senior race. Chloe Hounshell hit a PR and broke 29 minutes for the first time ever! Great job, girls! On the boys side, Brayden Brodie medaled in the Freshman/Sophomore race by taking 7th overall while Lucas Taraszkiewicz also medaled in the Junior/Senior race. Jacob Stanislawski won the Junior/Senior race and capped off an incredible career at the Dave Bork Classic by winning it for the fourth straight year in high school and seventh straight year going back to middle school! Congrats, fellas!

Today the FR boys XC team traveled to the Portage Invitational. The whole team ran hard and they were led by Jake Stanislawski who medaled and took 12th place in the Division 2 race with a 16:12. Evan Perry also had a season best with a 20:20.
