I have been bad at posting! Im sorry about that!
I want to hear your thoughts on a topic I was speaking with 2 different people about today. I wanted to hear your thoughts about body image, body focused media, and or the focus on weight or looks in relation to your self-worth or self-esteem. I for one am saddened by the influence that the media and social media have on young kiddos growing up. I am not just focusing on young girls. I think sources have way more impact than we think they do. I think it effects more than just the kiddos also.
I want to challenge you to work on accepting yourself. I’m not asking you to love everything about yourself right off the bat. But I am challengeing you to work on self-acceptance. I’m not saying stay stagnant and stop working on personal growth. Everyone should strive for personal growth in all areas of living - emotional/mental health, physical health, etc.
I am challenging you to take time to care for YOU today. I want you to take a few moments (or however long it takes you) to write down (yes, I want you to write it down 😊) 3 things you are grateful for. Write 3 things about yourself (not all physical) and write 3 things about your life that you can be happy about. I want you to then write 2-3 things you might be struggling with recently and/or 2-3 short term goals for this week. Make the goals realistic, achievable, and time-orientated of that helps you. Example: I want to workout 1 time more than I normally would this week. If you are used to high intensity workouts, challenge yourself to do a workout that is something like yoga or walking, or maybe something that helps you feel more present or mindful. Whatever works for you! Make it fun, not torturous. Make it something you enjoy. Do whatever it may be with love for yourself, not to punish yourself.
I want your goals/activities to be something that will help you be gentle with yourself. Take time to work on being ok with yourself. I want you to take the focus away from your body/shell. Please focus on the good things about you. Your body is capable, strong, protective. Your body gives you the strength to get through your day. It has bones and muscles to help you move and do things you want to do. It gives you stamina mentally to finish tasks throughout your day. Your body does so much more for you than you even realize!
Thanks for reading this long post. Please reach out if you need ideas, someone to chat with, or anything! I’m here to help if I can!
As always, stay postive, stay healthy, and stay content ♥️
