Certainly one of my favorite knives and a prized possession of mine. This is the Severance signed by the author Marc Cameron.

In the early stages of The Severance's design a Federal Drug Interdiction Team approached Northern Knives with a request. They were looking for a blade that would perform as a strong machete, and the ability to chop through a helicopter fuselage with little or no damage to the blade. The design was finalized, The Severance produced, and is today used in Federal, State, and Military environments. Now it is now being produced for the open market.
The Severance was featured in the mystery thriller State of Emergency by Marc Cameron. Mr. Cameron is a U.S. Marshall, a USA Today Bestselling Author, and described by Brad Thor as "One of the hottest authors in the thriller genre." Jericho Quinn (America's blunt instrument in the War on Terror) is an adventure motocyclist, champion boxer, Air Force Academy grad, Fulbright Fellow, a father, an extremely talented killer, and the central protagonist in the Quinn adventure-thriller series. The Severance's custom convex grind blends to a full convex Scandi / Bushcraft grind on the modified tanto front edge, a full Scandi / Bushcraft grind is also available. Commonly, the final edge on the blade is finished at 60-grit, to an edge that will shave paper. This particular grit is used mainly for two reasons: 1. This grit leaves larger striations in the steel, resulting in a more toothy edge, which takes much longer to wear down in the field, and ultimately staying sharp longer. 2. This coarser grit mimics the texture of rocks found on the forest floor or in the stream bed, which means you can literally sharpen the Severance with a rock to a shaving edge.
