Amelia River Campground on the west side has many huge live oak trees. It is a short walk to view beautiful sunsets over the water. Campers report that they see dolphins playing in the water most evenings.

The Atlantic Beach Campground is on the east side, just over the dunes from the beach. If you are a sunrise type of person, this side may suit you better.

By the way, there is a very popular single-track mountain bike trail in the park. It goes twisting and turning up and down the dunes through the forest, so this isn’t for gravel bikers.
