Eight miles. It’s a number that sits in the back of your mind until you’re out there, surrounded by nothing but turquoise waters and the distant silhouette of the Alligator Reef Lighthouse.

Swimming 8 miles is a physical feat, sure, but the real race happens between your ears. It’s about the mental toughness to keep your rhythm when the shore feels a world away.

Mental toughness starts early in training. It's built through the everyday challenges and small wins.

Getting the workout in, even when it's busy.
Staying focused, even when the days get long.
No junk miles, even when you're tired.
