Not quite the ending we were looking for, a tough loss in the semifinals of our indoor league playoff, but beyond proud of these young ladies! The work they’ve put in this fall/winter has been amazing.

Last practice this morning as we send them off to their school ball seasons. Wish them all the very best and can’t wait until June to pick it back up. Go get ‘em girls!

What an amazing weekend for these Fenton Fastpitch 14U young ladies! We competed in the Duel at the Dome tournament in Grand Blanc, and the girls showed up ready to play in front of so many familiar faces.

We kicked things off Saturday with a single game against a talented T2 team. Strong pitching and a couple late home runs — including a grand slam — powered us to an 8–0 win.

Sunday brought a full slate with two games and a potential championship appearance on the line. Game one was a slow-burn battle where the bats never fully woke up, but solid defense and clutch pitching kept us ahead most of the way. The opponent tied it late, and we finished in a 2–2 draw.

Our final division game against a strong Sugar Beets squad showcased a complete team effort. With a 4–2 victory, the girls clinched the division title and earned a spot in the championship game.

The championship matchup against Foutch Fastpitch did not disappoint. If you’re a fan of softball, this was a game to watch. Both pitchers were dealing, and we grabbed a 3–0 lead behind clutch home runs and aggressive base running. Then, in the bottom of the final inning — the toughest moment to endure — the wheels came off.

We’ve always believed one of the greatest benefits of team sports is how they prepare athletes for life. When complacency creeps in or mistakes happen, there will always be someone ready to capitalize. You have to stay focused and minimize those moments. Unfortunately, we made too many mistakes in that last inning, and a good team made us pay.

But the most important part isn’t the mistake — it’s how you respond. Do you mail it in, or do you put in the work to make sure it doesn’t happen again? I have no doubt this group will choose the latter.

After leading most of the game, we fell 4–3 in the bottom of the final inning. A heartbreaking result — but what an incredible game to be part of.

Not long ago, we would have been thrilled just to reach a championship game. The moral victory ship has sailed, and these young ladies were not satisfied with runner-up. Many wore their medals for the photo op and took them off right after — a mentality we can appreciate. At the same time, we want them to be proud of how they competed this weekend. We certainly are.

💥 Home run shoutouts (all over-the-fence shots):
• Maddie E — Game 1
• Katie W — Grand Slam
• Novah P — two massive homers in the championship game

Lastly, seeing so many familiar faces this weekend meant the world to the team. Thank you for the support — the girls truly appreciate it. You all are the best!

We may have been a little quiet on the posting front this winter, but trust us — the work has not stopped. Cold season is officially here, and these FFP 14U ladies have been grinding in preparation for the summer tournament circuit. One optional and one mandatory practice each week, and this group continues to show up and put in the work. Just as important, they’re finding time to grow closer as a team, make memories, and yes — still be teenagers. Time to reset, recharge, and refresh is part of the process too.

Friday night indoor league at Legacy Center is in full swing, and these winter reps are proving to be invaluable. The competition is tough, the lessons are real (sometimes learned the hard way), and the growth has been awesome to watch. These Friday nights are setting the tone as we gear up for the warmer months ahead.

After a couple weeks off, we finally squeezed in our annual holiday party at Urban Air in Oxford. The girls had an absolute blast (and let’s be honest… the coaches may have too 😁). A great night of fun, laughs, and getting to know each other even better, capped off with a team dinner to wrap it all up.

This past weekend, we jumped into our first of two indoor tournaments and the girls showed out as they always do. A strong 2–1 finish, representing the organization well. One early stinker of a half-inning proved costly — good teams will make you pay for that — but the fight and growth over the weekend was undeniable. Huge shoutout to Novah P with two OTF homers (including one still rising when it hit the dome ceiling beyond left field 😳) and Piper G who launched a bomb over the right-center fence.

Next up: our final indoor tournament in February at the Genesee Fieldhouse. Hope to see you there! 🥎🔥

Indoor league for our 14U FFP ladies kicked off last Friday night. Although wins and losses are not the priority in the winter, it was nice to get off to a great start against two quality teams - including our extremely talented FFP 13U sisters in orange and black. Pretty sloppy at times, no doubt, but the girls kept battling going home - at 12:15am - with a couple 6-3 victories.

Everybody had a little rust to shake off both at the plate and in the field. Coaching staff included. It was evident we hadn’t played or practiced in a few weeks. However, the girls didn’t let that get them too down and had to battle back both games. Some timely hits, amazing pitching, and just enough defense got the job done. Proud of the effort this group put in as these late night games can really take a lot out of ya. Couple weeks off until our next action at the Legacy Center.

Lots of kudos to go around, but a special shout out to Novah P who hit an absolute missile OTF home run in game two (video in comments). Truly a no-doubter. Think you can actually hear the umpire say “oh boy” in the video at the crack of the bat. Well Done!

Thank you for all the support!!
