Congratulations Stone DeGreeff!

We enjoyed watching you lead the U19 on the All Stars stage this summer and know you’ll do great things in Colorado as you hone in your skills even more.

Boys athletes from across the country are headed to the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs next week for the 2026 NTDP Boys Indoor Fall Training Series.

Just one follow-up from yesterday’s games at Wrigley Field…

It was so much fun seeing the comments and pictures from so many people in our Gateway volleyball community who were fortunate enough to be there.

But there was something else that really stood out to me.

Watching the players from Missouri and Nebraska grab towels and jump in to help improve the court conditions. Watching the dance-offs and the laughter. Watching these young women handle less-than-ideal circumstances with grace, joy and a genuine love for the game.

Those moments may not show up in a box score, but they say so much about our sport and the young women who play it.

Yesterday, on one of the biggest stages volleyball has ever had, they showed everyone that competing at a high level and having fun don't have to be mutually exclusive. They showed sportsmanship, resilience and joy—even when things weren't going exactly as planned.

And somewhere, there was probably an SLG — Some Little Girl — watching all of it.

We truly are fortunate to be part of the best sport going.

After a long day of barbecuing and being out in the sun, what better way to relax than tuning into FOX and watching Penn State and Kentucky compete in front of a packed Wrigley Field!

It’s pretty amazing to see the incredible exposure our sport is receiving and just how much volleyball continues to grow and flourish.

I loved the story the announcers shared about Kentucky’s SLG — “Some Little Girl” — slogan.

Somewhere in that packed stadium—or sitting at home watching on TV—is some little girl seeing these incredible young women compete on one of the most iconic stages in sports. She may be holding a volleyball for the first time, playing on her first club team, or simply discovering the sport tonight. And she may be watching and quietly thinking, “Someday, that could be me.”

These athletes will probably never know her name. They may never know she was watching. But every time they step on the court, they have the opportunity to inspire the next little girl to dream a little bigger.

And someday, that little girl may be the one taking the court while another little girl watches her.

That’s a pretty special legacy.

Volleyball truly is the best!!!!

ANNOUNCEMENT: We’re excited to share an upcoming USA Volleyball National Team Development Program (NTDP) Accelerator opportunity for athletes who want to train, compete, and continue developing their game!

The NTDP Accelerator gives athletes the opportunity to experience high-level training built around the principles and development pathway of USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program. Athletes will have the opportunity to work in a competitive training environment focused on skill development, decision-making, and the technical and tactical elements needed to compete at higher levels.

Date: 12-5-26
Location: Legacy in Fenton, MO

Whether you’re already on the NTDP radar or simply looking for an opportunity to challenge yourself and continue developing, the Accelerator is a chance to train with purpose and see what the next level demands.

FOR BOYS this event will be part of the Gateway Region ALL STAR TEAM TRYOUT PROCESS along with a tryout date in February. Attendance at both is recommended but not required.
Additional details will be provided in the coming weeks.

Largest Region Clinic, again!

Try Volleyball, in its third year now, has become our favorite clinic to host with each year showing growth in numbers AND in eagerness to learn.

THANK YOU to all who have helped us spread the word, who came out to participate, and to the St. Louis Stallions VBC and junior players for helping run the stations. It’s always a fun time and we’re already excited for 2027’s clinic next summer!
