A 2006 Lionel Hiawatha Atlantic locomotive pulling the 1999 ultra colorful and unique Hiawatha passenger set, with a matching special edition express re**er in between takes to the hi-rails on track one, while a super detailed K-Line NYC J1e Hudson heads-up its colorful 'Early Bird' freight consist into Chicago on track two! Happy 4th of July everyone, from the Silver Rail Club! Enjoy this colorful video featuring The American Freedom Train, headed up by a K-Line GS4 pulling a matching red, white and blue passenger set by MTH. A classic Lionel N&W Bicentennial GP-7 takes the lead pulling a very patriotic freight set, complete with custom box cars and more! The Silver Rail Club enjoyed sharing our O-gauge model trains with the staff and residents of Brandermill Woods, located in beautiful Midlothian, Virginia, for a special Father's Day event! We set up in the activity center, where we were able to project even MORE model train activity onto the BIG screen behind our layout, and spend time going through books and magazines filled with classic trains and model trains with the residents who interested in doing so. The Silver Rail Club enjoyed sharing our O-gauge model trains with the staff and residents of Brookview, an assisted living facility at The Woodland, in Farmville Virginia, for an outdoor Father's Day event, which took place the 15th of this month. The local car club brought several old 'classics' for everyone to admire and judge as their 'favorite', while the die-cast 1950's cars on our layout took 'runner up' to the 'Best In Show'! Here's two iconic NYC steam locomotives, rendered in O-scale, pulling two very special freight consists. Watch as our Lionel Mohawk hustles its Pacemaker Freight Service along the main line, as our K-Line Hudson J1e heads up an 'Early Bird' freight special over the hi-rail along the inside track. Be sure to watch the whole video very closely, and take in all the details, so that you can try and spot the 10 differences in the footage included on the 'B-roll' clip at the very end. 'Like' & subscribe, post that you found all ten items (but don't give it away as to what they are). Check out this all new look at the Union Pacific 49er, as rendered in classic O-gauge by MTH. It's colorful, fanciful (as the streamlined passenger cars never existed), has Proto-sound passenger station sounds which are custom recorded for this train, and smokes like the real thing - maybe even a bit more! Follow it through our detailed layout, and watch also as our Western Pacific 4-8-4 Northern heard up its colorful heavy freight consist along the 'Feather Route' on the inside track. This year marks the 18th annual Ashland Train Day. This is the first time that it's being held in the spring, and on the last day of April. The event was canceled twice during the pandemic, and before that, Ashland Train Day was held each year on the first Saturday of November. With all the fun and activity of the day, it has become one of the Silver Rail Club's favorite Rail Events. Not one, but two iconic New York Central's Hudson’s are showcased in this exciting video from the Silver Rail Club! A J1e 4-6-4 Hudson, made by K-Line, heads up a mixed freight consist to provide ‘Early Bird Express Freight Service’ while our other finely detailed Hudson, made by Williams, provides ‘Pacemaker Service’ along the ‘water level route’. Rendered in 1/48 O-scale, the town and its surrounding area in this detailed layout showcases a well-remembered time in America during the 1950's.
