Hippach Hounds Fall in a Heartbreaker After a Big Comeback By Mid-Maine River Pigs
Despite leading by as many as five runs, Hippach Hounds fell to Mid-Maine River Pigs 7-6 on Sunday at Colby College.
Hippach Hounds lost despite out-hitting Mid-Maine River Pigs 13 to six. Sean Testa, Hunter Bolduc, and Cam Goodhart each collected two hits for Hippach Hounds.
Hippach Hounds opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to four singles. Hippach Hounds first got on the board when Bolduc singled, scoring one run.
Mid-Maine River Pigs jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning after Drew Stanley hit a sacrifice fly, and Hippach Hounds committed an error, each scoring one run.
Bolduc stepped on the mound first for Hippach Hounds. The righty surrendered four hits and three runs over six innings, striking out six and walking eight. Brian Bellows led things off on the mound for Mid-Maine River Pigs. The starting pitcher surrendered 13 hits and six runs over nine innings, striking out nine and walking two.
Hippach Hounds tallied 13 hits in the game. Testa led Hippach Hounds with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day.
The hounds will have the 4th of July weekend off but will be back in action July 12 where they look to get back to their winning ways
