3 WAYS TO MAKE A GOOD IMPRESSION 👀🏒
Whether you’re joining a new team, heading to a tryout, attending camp, or stepping into any new hockey environment, first impressions matter.
1️⃣ Look the part.
Show up dressed appropriately and presentable. No backwards hats. No obscene language or graphics on your apparel. Your warm-up gear should reflect the same level of respect. Looking the part is half the battle.
2️⃣ Show respect.
Greet coaches and teammates properly. Look coaches in the eye. Shake their hands. Be confident, mature, and respectful. Even when you’re competing against others, never act like you’re above anyone. Stay focused on your own performance, but remember to be a great teammate.
3️⃣ Compete.
Once you step on the ice, the only word that matters is compete.
Compete in skating drills.
Compete in shooting drills.
Compete in the scrimmage.
Compete on the first shot.
Compete on every rebound.
Compete until the very last second of the skate.
Coaches notice the players who carry themselves the right way — on and off the ice.
